An analytical system for a trace element, which includes a pressure pump for continuously feeding a carrier solution, a first sample introduction unit for introducing a sample and a reagent using sample loops and switching valves, a first flow passage including a pre-treatment unit for pre-treating the sample by heating, and a second flow passage separated from in pressure from the first flow passage, wherein the sample pre-treated in the first flow passage is sampled into the second flow passage through a second sample introduction unit, and the sample thus sampled in the second flow passage is allowed to coloredly react with a coloring agent and measured in absorbance.

Apparatus for chemical analysis with detachable analytical units

A continuous flow analyzer of the type which introduces continuously a carrier liquid into a single tubular conduit to form a stable main carrier stream and injects predetermined volumes of reagent liquid and sample liquid in series into the main carrier stream. The analyzer reduces the consumption of the reagent and can form a stable continuous flow.

Method and apparatus for continuous flow analysis of liquid sample

Apparatus in which a sample and a reagent solution are introduced into a stream of carrier liquid, whereby reaction proceeds between the sample and the reagent solution during their transfer through a passage. When a zone of the reaction solution passes successively through two flow cells provided in series, light absorbancy based on the reaction solution in each flow cell is measured, and rate assay is made from a difference between light absorbancies. A period of time for observing a specific sample can be changed by changing the length of a reaction tube connecting a flow cell at the upstream side to a flow cell at the downstream side.

Apparatus for flow analysis

In a flow injection analysis method of injecting a predetermined amount of a sample into a continuous flow of a carrier solution and introducing a reaction zone of the sample and the carrier solution into a flow cell, signals representative of the respective absorptions of the reaction zone for a plurality of wavelengths are produced when the reaction zone is passing through the flow cell. The signals are subjected to an at least two-wavelength processing or differentiation processing, thereby providing a desired absorbance of a substance of interest for analysis free of the influence of a ghost component.

Method for continuous flow analysis of liquid sample

A method of and device for analyzing one ingredient in a mixed solution with two light beams of different wavelengths are disclosed which include the following processes. A light beam from a light source are divided into a first light beam having a wavelength of .lambda..sub.1 and a second light beam having a wavelength of .lambda..sub.2. The wavelength .lambda..sub.1 is fixed, and .lambda..sub.2 is variable, for example, a scanning wavelength. Reference signals E.sub..lambda..sbsb.1 and E.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.) respectively corresponding to the fixed wavelength .lambda..sub.1 and the variable wavelength (.lambda..sub.2) are produced from photometric signals resulting from the passage of the first and second light beams through only a solvent. After having been normalized by the reference signals E.sub..lambda..sbsb.1 and E.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.), the photometric signals Ib.sub..lambda..sbsb.1 and Ib.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.) resulting from the passage of the first and second light beams through a solution containing only a coexisting ingredient are converted into absorbance signals b.sub..lambda..sbsb.1 and b.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.). These absorbance signals are held as a ratio indicating signal k.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.) =b.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.) /b.sub..lambda..sbsb.1. After having been normalized by the reference signals E.sub..lambda..sbsb.1 and E.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.), the photometric signals Ic.sub..lambda..sbsb.1 and Ic.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.) resulting from the passage of the first and second light beams through the mixed solution containing the coexisting ingredient and the ingredient to be analyzed are converted into absorbance signals C.sub..lambda..sbsb.1 and C.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.). A product signal k.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.).C.sub..lambda..sbsb.1 is produced from the absorbance signal C.sub..lambda..sbsb.1 and the ratio indicating signal k.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.). A signal .DELTA.DS=a.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.) -k.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.).a.sub..lambda..sbsb.1 which can eliminate the influence of the coexisting ingredient, is produced from the absorbance signal C.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.) and the product signal k.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.).C.sub..lambda..sbsb.1. A signal .DELTA.S=a.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.) /k.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.) -a.sub..lambda..sbsb.1 which indicates the difference-absorbance spectrum of the ingredient to be analyzed, is produced from the signals .DELTA.DS and k.sub.(.lambda..sbsb.2.sub.).
