A light emitting device includes a substrate including first, second, third and fourth wiring portions on a top surface of a base member and arrayed in a first direction, and a connection wiring portion connecting the second and third wiring portions. The connection wiring portion includes first and second connection ends respectively connected with the second and third wiring portions, and a connection central portion connecting the first and second connection ends and having a maximum width in a second direction different from each of a maximum width of the first connection end and a maximum width of the second connection end. In the second direction, at least a part of the connection wiring portion has a width narrower than each of a maximum width of the second wiring portion and a maximum width of the third wiring portion.

A method of manufacturing a light emitting element includes: providing a first light emitting part and a second light emitting part, the first light emitting part comprising a first base member and a first semiconductor layered body, the second light emitting part comprising a second base member and a second semiconductor layered body; bonding the first and second light emitting parts to each other such that the first base member and the second base member are disposed between the first semiconductor layered body and the second semiconductor layered body; disposing a light reflecting member to cover the bonded first and second light emitting parts; removing a portion of the light reflecting member to expose surfaces of the first and second base members; and disposing a wavelength conversion member on the exposed surface of the first base member and the exposed surface of the second base member.

Method of manufacturing light emitting element

A light emitting device includes light emitting elements, light-transmissive members, a covering member, at least one first protrusion, and two second protrusions. The light emitting elements are aligned in a first direction. The light-transmissive members are respectively disposed on upper surfaces of the light emitting elements. The covering member includes at least one first covering portion and two second covering portions. The at least one first covering portion is arranged between adjacent ones of the light-transmissive members, and the second covering portions are arranged at distal ends of the light emitting device in the first direction with the light-transmissive members being arranged between the second covering portions. The at least one first protrusion is arranged on an upper surface of the at least one first covering portion and being spaced apart from the light-transmissive members. The first light emitting element has a first light emitting element first surface at which a first n-side electrode and a first p-side electrode are disposed, and a first light emitting element second surface. A method for manufacturing a light emitting device includes: providing an intermediate structure including first and second layered structures arranged in a first direction in a light reflecting member, wherein each of the layered structures includes a first and second electrodes arranged in a second direction, and wherein the intermediate structure has a first surface at which the first and second electrodes are exposed; on the first surface, forming a first hole in the light reflecting member between the first electrodes as viewed in the second direction; on the first surface, forming a second hole in the light reflecting member between the second electrodes as viewed in the second direction; forming a conductive film on exposed surfaces of the first and second electrodes, and in the first and second holes; and severing the light reflecting member and the conductive film at positions that pass through the first and second holes.

The first inclined member is spaced apart from the light-transmissive member.

The method of manufacturing a light emitting device includes: providing a first intermediate body, the first intermediate body including a temporary substrate including a base and a pair of first wirings, and a light emitting element including a pair of element electrodes, each of the pair of element electrodes connected to a respective one of the first wirings via a respective one of a plurality of solders; removing a portion of the temporary substrate to form a second intermediate body having a second lower surface in which a lower surface of each of the element electrodes and a lower surface of each of the plurality of solders are located; and forming a pair of external connection electrodes on the second lower surface such that each of the pair of external connection electrodes cover a respective one of the element electrodes and a respective one of the plurality of solders.

Light emitting device including external connection electrodes, and method thereof

A light emitting device is provided. The light emitting device includes a light emitting element, which emits blue light, and a light transmissive member having a first principal face bonded to the light emitting element and a second principal face opposite the first principal face. The light transmissive member has a light transmissive base material and wavelength conversion substances, which are contained in the base material and which absorb the light from the light emitting element and emit light. The wavelength conversion substances are localized in the base material towards the first principal face, and include a first phosphor which emits green to yellow light and a second phosphor which emits red light. The first phosphor is more localized towards the first principal face than the second phosphor. The second phosphor is a manganese-activated fluoride phosphor.

A light emitting element includes: a light reflecting member including a first region and a second region; a first semiconductor layered body disposed between the first region and the second region and configured to emit first light having a first peak wavelength; a second semiconductor layered body disposed between the first semiconductor layered body and the second region and configured to emit second light having a second peak wavelength different from the first peak wavelength; a base member disposed between the first semiconductor layered body and the second semiconductor layered body; and a wavelength conversion member on which the first light and the second light is incident, the wavelength conversion member producing third light having a third peak wavelength different from the first peak wavelength and the second peak wavelength.
