Various embodiments include a superconducting coil device comprising: a coil winding with at least one turn of a superconducting strip conductor; wherein the strip conductor has a first main face and a second main face. The coil winding includes a turning region wherein the strip conductor is bent such that, in the turning region, the strip conductor has a distinct change of direction in a longitudinal direction and simultaneously changes the orientation of both the first main face and the second main face with respect to a central axis of the coil device.

The present disclosure relates to DC transmission. Some embodiments may include a device for DC transmission comprising: a superconducting transmission line including a superconducting conductor element; and a cooling device for cooling an inner region of the transmission line with a fluid coolant to a temperature below a critical temperature of the superconducting conductor element. The superconducting transmission line may comprise a vacuum-insulated sleeve thermally isolating the inner region of the transmission line from a warmer outer surrounding area. The cooling device may comprise a feed device feeding coolant at an end region of the transmission line into the inner region of the transmission line. The transmission line may be free of internally arranged feed devices for feeding coolant at locations away from the end region.

An electric coil device includes a winding support which is made of an elongated hollow tube that has the shape of a ring such that a higher-order loop of the winding device is formed entirely by the annular shape of the winding support, and a winding which is made of a superconductive conductor and is attached to the winding support. The superconductive conductor is wound in a helical manner about the hollow tube in a plurality of individual windings such that at least one higher-order winding of the entire helix is produced by the annular shape of the winding support. The interior of the hollow tube is designed as a coolant channel for circulating a fluid coolant. A rotor for an electric machine includes at least one such coil device.

A process applies a polymer to at least one individual conductor of a high-temperature superconductor (HTS) composite in the manner of a Roebel conductor. The at least one individual conductor includes a substrate and a superconducting layer. Particles are applied to the individual conductor. Then, a thermal treatment is performed which results in partial or complete melting of the particles and, after cooling, in a polymer layer on the individual conductor.

A current lead () for connecting a superconducting load system (), in particular, a magnet coil, to a current feed point () that is at a higher temperature than the load system () comprises a flat, elongated carrier () and a plurality of mechanical and electrical parallel high-temperature superconductors (HTSC) (), wherein the HTSCs () are disposed side by side on the carrier (). The carrier () is made of stainless steel, and a plurality of HTSCs () are each disposed side by side on two opposite carrier () sides of the carrier. The carrier () is constituted in the shape of a plate with cut-outs (-). The current lead has a high current capacity and low thermal conductivity and provides improved emergency conduction properties in case of failure of the superconductivity in the HTSC.
