A vertical comb-drive actuator comprising a support base and a movable body is described. The support base comprises first comb electrodes and a first surface wherein the first comb electrodes extend from the first surface. The movable body attached to the support base comprises second comb electrodes and a second surface wherein the second comb electrodes extend from the second surface. The movable body may rotate about a rotation axis and the first comb electrodes are interdigitated with the second comb electrodes correspondingly. The second comb electrodes extend along a first direction, the rotation axis extends along a second direction, and the first comb electrodes extend along a third direction. The distance between the first lateral face of the first comb electrode and the second surface is shorter than the second length defined as the distance between the end surface of the second comb electrode and the second surface.

Comb-drive actuator

A method for programming a non-volatile memory and a memory system are provided. Each of multiple cells of the non-volatile memory stores data having at least 2 bits. The method includes the following steps. At least one programming pulse is provided for programming a target cell of the cells. At least one program-verify pulse is provided for verifying whether the target cell is successfully programmed. It is determined that whether a threshold voltage of the target cell is greater than or equal to a program-verify voltage. When the threshold voltage is greater than or equal to the program-verify voltage, the target cell is set as successfully programmed. Next, a post-verifying operation is performed to the successfully programmed cell. The post-verifying operation includes determining whether the threshold voltage of the target cell is greater than or equal to a post-verifying voltage.

Method for programming non-volatile memory and memory system

A method that measures performance of an information appliance comprises a test module receiving, from a client, and recording a request for processing of a sample data by an information appliance. The test module sends the sample data received from the client to the information appliance for processing. If a request to a backend application is present, the test module also sends the request to the backend application for processing and receives and records a response from the backend application. The test module sends the response from the backend application to the information appliance for processing. A generated correlation ID is used to update a performance data table with start time and a stop time of a response for transaction sample data processed by the information appliance.

Measuring performance of an appliance

A computer program product and apparatus measure performance of an information appliance. The computer program product comprises code for: a test module receiving, from a client, and recording a request for processing of a sample data by an information appliance. The test module sends the sample data received from the client to the information appliance for processing. If a request to a backend application is present, the test module also sends the request to the backend application for processing and receives and records a response from the backend application. The test module sends the response from the backend application to the information appliance for processing. An oscillation structure of micro actuator is described. In the oscillation structure, a pair of torsion bars is disposed along a first axis perpendicular to a second axis. The first frame is connected to the pair of torsion bars wherein the torsion bars are disposed on the outer periphery of a first frame along the first axis and a second frame is disposed inside the first frame. Each of the first connection members connects the first frame to the second frame therebetween, and each of the second connection members connects the second frame to the oscillation body therebetween such that the first frame, the second frame and the oscillation body are allowed to rotate about the first axis by the torsion bars as a structure assemblies at an identical angle. The oscillation structure effectively reduces the dynamic deformation of micro actuator.

A file managing software program for managing a list of elements in a specific sequence in a first file of a computer program, including the steps of copying the first file to form a second file having an identical list of elements as the first file. The user is then permitted to rearrange the sequence of the elements of the second file independently of the sequence of the first file. A display of both the first and the second file list elements is provided to the user. Further embodiments allow the user to categorize, prioritize, and order according to users specified rules of how the second file element list is organized and displayed to provide a more convenient and flexible presentation of the file contents.

Mirrored file manager

A two-dimensional comb-drive actuator and manufacturing method thereof are described. The two-dimensional comb-drive actuator includes a supporting base, a frame and a movable body. The supporting base has first comb electrodes and the frame has internal comb electrodes and external comb electrodes. The external comb electrodes of the frame are interdigitated to the first comb electrodes of the supporting base. The movable body has second comb electrodes which are interdigitated to the internal comb electrodes of the frame. The thicknesses of the second comb electrodes of the movable body are unequal to the internal comb electrodes of the frame and the external comb electrodes of the frame are unequal to the first comb electrodes of the supporting base. The two-dimensional comb-drive actuator utilizes a conducting layer for the above-mentioned comb electrodes in order to increase the rotation angle and operation frequency thereof.

Provided are a computer program product, method and system for dynamically providing algorithm-based password/challenge authentication. A page is generated including selectable conversion operators to enable generation of an algorithm that applies at least one selected conversion operator of the selectable conversion operators on a string to generate a password. A created algorithm created using the at least one selected conversion operator in the page is received. The created algorithm is associated with a username for use in authenticating access by a presenter of the username to a computer service.

Dynamically providing algorithm-based password/challenge authentication

Provided are a computer program product, method and system for dynamically providing algorithm-based password/challenge authentication. A page is provided to authenticate a presenter of a username including a string and a field for entry of a password. An entered password entered into the page is received. An algorithm associated with the username is applied to the string included in the page to generate a generated password. A determination is made as to whether the entered password matches the generated password. The username is successfully authenticated in response to determining that the entered password matches the generated password.

A system and method automatically rescales an electronic message having one or more associated content. When the electronic message is generated and the associated content connected to the message, an agent of the electronic message application checks predefined settings/configurations of the message client. The sender's e-mail client checks a plurality of conditions, such as, the condition of the network, the type of network, the status or capacity of the receiving inbox of an intended recipient client, and the geographic destination of the message. Based on these dynamic content rescale settings, the sender's client dynamically and optimally rescales the associated content before forwarding the electronic message with the rescaled content to the recipient client. Rescaling of the associated content may be performed by the message exchange server or the recipient client. The recipient client may later request and receive a copy of the associated content without rescaling.

A micro-electro-mechanical actuator consists of a first semiconductor layer comprising a movable element with comb electrodes, a support element with inner and outer comb electrodes and a stationary element with comb electrodes, an electrical insulation layer, and a second semiconductor layer with a cavity to allow out-of-plane rotation of the movable and support elements. The movable element is mounted to the support element by a first pair of torsional hinges whereas the support element is mounted to the stationary element by a second pair of torsional hinges such that the actuator is in gimbaled structure. Inner comb electrodes of the support element interdigitate with comb electrodes of the movable element, and outer comb electrodes of the support element interdigitate with comb electrodes of the stationary element in the same plane defined by the first semiconductor layer to form in-plane comb-drive actuators. The in-plane comb-drive actuator may be controlled to generate two-dimensional oscillation of the movable element about the two axes defined by the torsional hinges. The second semiconductor layer may further comprise comb electrodes which interdigitate vertically with outer comb electrodes of support element to form vertical comb-drive actuators. Combing the in-plane and the vertical comb-drive actuators, the movable element is controllable to perform two-dimensional raster scan motion.

Two-dimensional micromechanical actuator with multiple-plane comb electrodes

A head-up display system is described. The head-up display system includes an image projection device, a diffusion unit, and a frame demonstration medium. The image projection device emits the visible light, containing text or image information, for generating a real image on the diffusion unit. The frame demonstration medium receives the visible light reflected from the diffusion unit. By adjusting the received visible light reflected from the diffusion unit, the frame demonstration medium generates a virtual image corresponding to the real image. The distance between the real image corresponding to the diffusion unit and the frame demonstration medium is preferably equal to the distance between the virtual image and the frame demonstration medium. Alternatively, the visible light is projected to the frame demonstration medium and then reflected to the diffusion unit. The frame demonstration medium again reflected visible light from the diffusion unit to generate a virtual image corresponding to the real image.

Head-up display system

A scanning projection apparatus for displaying image comprises a light source for generating a light beam, a beam scanner which deflects the light beam to project a two dimensional image field, a modulation means for modulating the intensity of the light beam, and a sensor to detect the scanned light beam. The light source may consist of a plurality of semiconductor lasers and/or solid state lasers to generate light beams with wavelengths of red, green and blue colors aligned into a single light path. The image field is divided into an active image field for displaying image and a dark field in the perimeter of the image field wherein the light beam is switched off to reduce inherent image defects. The sensor is positioned outside the active image field to detect a scan line once per image frame to eliminate image distortion due to phase difference between the actual and the predicted positions of the scanned beam, and to detect both the horizontal and the vertical scanning operations of the beam scanner for safety precaution.

Eyewear

An eyewear for administering colored light therapy comprising an eyepiece; a frame element for supporting said eyepiece in a position exposing the inner surface thereof to the wearer of said eyewear; and a plurality of light-generating units on said frame element each for generating a light of controlled color and intensity and illuminating onto said inner surface of said eyepiece for display of said generated light to the eyes of said wearer. The eyewear provides a colored light therapy display area close to the eyes of the wearer allowing for convenient implementation of the therapy almost anywhere. The eyewear is also easy to be converted into an eyewear of fun for entertainment purposes by the replacement of a transparent eyepiece.
