Provided is a method for operating an electrical storage station on an electrical supply network. The network has electrical consumers, the storage station, and at least one wind power installation to generate electrical power from wind. The method includes generating electrical power by way of the installation as generated wind power, and feeding a feed-in power into the network. The electrical feed-in power at least results from the generated wind power and a storage power taken up or output by the storage station. The feeding of the feed-in power into the network is controlled depending on a station state of charge and a wind and/or power forecast. Changes in the feed-in power over time are controlled depending on the wind and/or power forecast and a limit gradient is specified to limit the changes in the feed-in power thereto. The limit gradient is specified depending on the wind and/or power forecast.

The power flow control device is configured to connect the farm grid and the supply grid such that an electrical power generated by the installations can be supplied into the supply grid. The power flow control device has at least: a DC link configured to conduct at least the electrical power generated by the installations, an electrical energy store connected to the DC link, an inverter connected to the DC link and configured to inject at least the electrical power generated by the installations into the supply grid, and a controller configured to drive the inverter in such a way that the farm, at the supply grid, in the steady state appears to be dynamic like an electromechanical synchronous machine.

The generator has a stator and an armature having an excitation input, connected to an excitation controller, for inputting an excitation current or an excitation voltage. After being operated in a first operating state with a first power output and a first rotational speed, the wind turbine is set to a second operating state with a second power output and a second rotational speed. In order to set the wind turbine to the second operating state, an aerodynamic power output which is available for supply is determined, a target rotational speed is determined from the available output, and a target output to be set for the generator is specified from the target rotational speed.
