A shielding article includes a polymeric conductive layer and a protective layer disposed adjacent the polymeric conductive layer. The polymeric conductive layer provides electromagnetic shielding characteristics so as to prevent receipt of data from a radio frequency information component by an external device when the component is located between the external device on one side and the polymeric conductive and protective layers on the other side. The shielding article may be shaped to substantially surround the radio frequency information component.

Electromagnetic shielding article

A flat flexible cable with electrical conductors is disclosed for use in a vehicle. One or more of the conductors is configured to be attached to an external electrical device at an attachment point. The cable includes a region free from electrical conductors and an aperture formed through the conductor free region. The aperture is configured to be engaged with a cable engagement member to secure the cable to the electrical device and provide strain relief to the attachment point. The flat flexible cable can include a plurality of conductor free regions and a plurality of apertures in each of the one or more conductor free regions.

A sensor assembly has a plurality of sensing elements configured to be positioned within a seat of a vehicle. Each of the sensing elements include an output signal indicating the presence or absence of an occupant. The sensor assembly includes a cable with a plurality of conductors that are in electrical communication with the output signals of the sensing elements. The sensor assembly further provides a non-conductive spacer positioned between the cable and the plurality of sensing elements. A method for providing a sensor assembly having a spacer between sensing elements and conductors attached thereto to reduce unwanted coupling of signals onto the conductors is also disclosed.

A sensor assembly includes a sensing element electrically connected to a conductor of a flexible multiconductor cable using a conductive patch, which is electrically connected to the conductor. A method of forming a sensor assembly includes electrically connecting an electrically conductive patch to a sensing element and electrically connecting a conductor of a multiconductor cable to the electrically conductive patch.

Sensor assembly and method of forming the same

The invention provides a flexible electrode antenna having a layer of conductive material laminated between a layer of flame retardant material and a layer of protective material. The layer of conductive material is preferably a metalized polymer substrate having corrosion resistant properties. The flame retardant material is preferably a glass cloth, while the protective material is preferably a non-woven material.
