A method of molding a headrest of automotive seat comprises the following steps. First, a bag shaped flexible outer skin member is prepared, has an elongate slit formed therethrough. A part of a stay member is inserted into the outer skin member through the slit and set relative to the outer skin member. A given biasing force is applied to longitudinal ends of the slit so that the slit is stretched in longitudinally opposed directions and thus caused to take a closed position. Then, an injection nozzle of a foamable material feeder is put into the slit by expanding the slit against the biasing force. A foamable material is poured into the outer skin member, and the material feeding is stopped when a given amount of material is fed to the outer skin member. The application of the biasing force to the slit is continued until the material is sufficiently cured.

Method for molding the headrest of an automotive seat

Herein disclosed is a shock absorbing device for a vehicular seat. The device comprises a link mechanism having lower and upper base members which are movable toward and away from each other; and a shock damper interposed between the lower and upper base members to damp shocks or vibrations applied to the same. The shock damper includes an axially expandable housing having lower and upper parts which are respectively secured to the lower and upper base members of the link mechanism; a diaphragm disposed in the housing to partition an interior of the housing into an air-filled part and a liquid-filled part; a partition wall disposed in the liquid-filled part to partition the same into first and second chambers, the partition wall having an aperture formed therethrough; and an orifice member axially movably disposed in the aperture of the partition wall, the orifice member having an orifice formed therethrough.

Shock absorbing device for vehicular seat

The invention concerned relates to a car seat having one side frame each mounted on the upper rails of a pair of left and right seat slide adjusters for the entire seat and backrest, with a seat cushion frame installed so as to allow free sliding in either direction, and a rack contained either in one of these side frames or one of these seat cushion frames, while a shaft with a pinion which engages with said rack is installed in the other frame, together with a lock mechanism that selectively restricts the rotation of the aforementioned pinion. Due to the aforementioned peripheral mechanism consisting of a rack and pinion and the lock mechanism, this car seat allows the seat cushion to be slid and adjusted independently towards or away from the backrest of the seat easily and continuously and also enables the seat cushion to be locked securely in place at the desired position.
