A mobile station is capable of wireless communication with a base station in a plurality of frequency bands. The mobile station includes a receiving unit, a detecting unit, an acquiring unit, and a transmitting unit. The receiving unit receives band information indicating a frequency band to be used in the wireless communication with the base station from the base station. The detecting unit detects whether a wireless module assigned wireless communication processing in the frequency band indicated in the received band information supports MIMO transmission. The acquiring unit acquires classification information identifying desired method information among method information associated with MIMO support information indicating that MIMO transmission is enabled when it has been detected that the wireless module supports MIMO transmission. A mobile terminal (and a method of controlling reception of the mobile terminal) can receive a given channel (second channel) even when a different channel (first channel) cannot appropriately be received, in the HSDPA transmission system for transmitting information necessary for a receiving process for the second channel through the first channel. An error detection method for detecting an error of control information (parameters) of a physical channel and a mobile terminal are provided.
