Multilayered pellets are provided that contain an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) and a polyamide resin and that have excellent thermal stability during pelletizing and melt molding. The multilayered pellets each are composed of at least two resin layers and include a resin layer A whose main component is EVOH and a resin layer B whose main component is a polyamide resin. In the multilayered pellets, at least 70 mol % of all the terminals of the polyamide resin are blocked by units each containing an imide structure.

Multilayered pellet and molded resin

The present invention provides a multilayered pellet having a core-shell structure, wherein the core of the core-shell structure is made of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin composition (A), and the shell of the core-shell structure is made of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin composition (B). The ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin composition (A) constituting the multilayered pellet contains any one of (i) to (iii): (i) an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (a) and a modified ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (b); (ii) a modified ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (b); and (iii) an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (a) and a plasticizer (d). The modified ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (b) is preferably a modified ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer having a predetermined unit or a modified ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer obtained by reacting the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (a) and a monovalent epoxy compound (c) having a molecular weight of not greater than 500. Difference of the heat sealing temperature (TA) of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin composition (A) and the heat sealing temperature (TB) of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin composition (B) is in the range of 3&#xb0; C. to 100&#xb0; C.

Multilayered pellet comprising ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin composition

The present invention provides a resin composition which comprises EVOH and a thermoplastic resin other than EVOH and which generates less odor and therefore is suitable for food packaging applications. The invention also provides an environmentally friendly method for producing a resin composition, without releasing any carboxylic acid such as acetic acid to the peripheral environment. A resin composition containing less carboxylate group is obtained by contacting an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin with an aqueous solution containing both carbon dioxide gas and at least one additive selected from the group consisting of an alkali metal salt (A) and a boron compound (B) and then melt kneading with a thermoplastic resin (G) other than EVOH.

Resin composition and method for producing the same

The present invention provides a resin composition including an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) and a polyamide resin and having outstanding properties in terms of long-term run stability, appearance, and hot water resistance in melt molding. In this resin composition, 70 mol % or more of all the terminal ends of the polyamide resin are blocked with units including an imide structure. At least a portion of the units containing an imide structure may be units containing a cyclic imide structure.

A collapsible tube is obtained by heat bonding a head to a polyolefin sleeve, the head comprising a composition which comprises a polyolefin resin (A), a saponified product of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (B) having a melting point of at least 135.degree. C., and a saponified product ethylene-vinyl acetate. copolymer (C) having a melting point of not more than 130.degree. C.
