The present invention provides a polarizer module and an operation method thereof. The polarizer module includes a bifacial reflective polarizer, a first liquid crystal layer, a second liquid crystal layer, a first polarizer, and a second polarizer. The bifacial reflective polarizer has a first surface and a second surface opposite to each other. The first liquid crystal layer and the second liquid crystal layer are disposed on the first surface and the second surface respectively. The first polarizer and the second polarizer are disposed on the first liquid crystal layer and the second liquid crystal layer respectively.

Polarizer module and operation method thereof

A display apparatus includes a backlight source, a privacy filter disposed on the backlight source, a light adjusting panel disposed on the privacy filter, and a display panel disposed on the light adjusting panel. The light adjusting panel includes a first substrate, a first electrode, a second electrode, a first vertical alignment film disposed on the first substrate, a second substrate disposed opposite to the first substrate, a second vertical alignment film disposed on the second substrate, and a positive liquid crystal layer disposed between the first vertical alignment film and the second vertical alignment film. The first electrode and the second electrode are disposed on the first substrate. Here, the first electrode has a plurality of first slits, and a plurality of orthogonal projections of the first slits on the first substrate overlap an orthogonal projection of the second electrode on the first substrate.

Display apparatus

A pixel structure includes a switch element on a substrate, a first electrode, and a second electrode. The first electrode includes first to third trunk portions and first to fourth branch portions. The third trunk portion is located between the first and second trunk portions. The first branch portions are connected to the first trunk portion. The second and third branch portions are connected to the third trunk portion. The fourth branch portions are connected to the second trunk portion. The second electrode includes fourth and fifth trunk portions and the fifth to eighth branch portions. The fourth trunk portion overlaps a gap between the first and second branch portions. The fifth trunk portion overlaps a gap between the third and fourth branch portions. The fifth and sixth branch portions are connected to the fourth trunk portion. The seventh and eighth branch portions are connected to the fifth trunk portion.

Pixel structure

A pixel structure including an active device, a first electrode and a second electrode is provided. The first electrode includes a main portion, first branch portions, a first auxiliary portion and a second auxiliary portion. The second electrode includes second branch portions and a peripheral portion. The main portion extends in a first direction. The first branch portions and the second branch portions cross with the main portion and are arranged alternately in the first direction. Each first branch portion has a first end and a second end located on two opposite sides of the main portion respectively. The first auxiliary portion is connected to the first ends of the first branch portions. The second auxiliary portion is connected to the second ends of the first branch portions. The first auxiliary portion and the second auxiliary portion of the first electrode overlap the peripheral portion of the second electrode.

A pixel structure and a driving method are provided. The pixel structure includes a scan line, a first data line, a second data line, a first switching element, a second switching element, a common electrode, a first electrode and a second electrode. The first switching element is electrically connected with the scan line, the first data line and the first electrode. The second switching element is electrically connected with the second data line and the second electrode. The common electrode includes two first body portions and at least two first branch portions. The first electrode includes a second body portion and at least two second branch portions. The second electrode includes at least two main portions and at least one bridge portion. The at least one bridge portion overlaps at least one of the first branch portions in a projection direction.

Pixel structure and driving method capable of switching display mode

A display module includes a display panel and an electronically controlled shutter including polarizers, conductive layers, supporting members, and a display medium layer. Each pixel of the display panel has a first edge and a second edge. A shape unit composed of any four supporting members adjacent to one another has a third edge and a fourth edge. An angle between the third edge and the first edge is larger than or equal to 0 degrees. An angle between the fourth edge and the second edge is larger than 0 degrees. Lengths of the first, second, third, and fourth edges are respectively X, Y, X', and Y&#x2032;. Any four supporting members adjacent to one another satisfy at least one of Condition 1: X&#x2032;&#x3e;X and X&#x2032;&#x2260;nX; and Condition 2: Y&#x2032;&#x3e;Y and Y&#x2032;&#x2260;nY, wherein n is a positive integer.

Display module

A display panel including a first substrate, a second substrate, a first display medium layer, a polarizing layer, and a second display medium layer is provided. The first display medium layer is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first display medium layer includes a first base material and a plurality of first encapsulated particles immobilized in the first base material. The average size of the first encapsulated particles is 1 nm to 400 nm. The polarizing layer is disposed between the first display medium layer and the second substrate. The polarizing layer is in contact with the first display medium layer. The second display medium layer is disposed between the polarizing layer and the second substrate.

Display panel

A structure integrating polarization and touch functions includes first touch electrodes and second touch electrodes. A first touch electrode includes a first connecting line and a plurality of first conducting lines. End points of the first conducting lines are disposed along an outline of an M-sided polygon (M&#x2265;3). For the first touch electrode, the first connecting line electrically connects the first conducting lines. A second touch electrode includes a plurality of second conducting lines and a second connecting line. End points of the second conducting lines are disposed along an outline of an N-sided polygon (N&#x2265;3). For a second touch electrode, the second connecting line electrically connects the second conducting lines. Widths of the first and second conducting lines range from approximately 50 to 100 nanometers.

Touch sensing substrate, and structure integrating polarization and touch functions

A display device includes a lower substrate, a light source, a polarized light activation layer, an inner polarizer layer, a light modulation layer, and an upper substrate. The lower substrate has a light entrance side, and a bottom surface and a top surface opposite to each other. The light source generates light entering the lower substrate through the light entrance side. The light entering into the lower substrate at least partially passes through the bottom surface to enter and excite the polarized light activation layer into generating a plurality of polarized color lights of different colors. The polarized color lights have their polarization levels increased by the inner polarizer layer before reaching the light modulation layer.

Display device

An electrowetting display device includes an electrowetting display panel and an illumination unit. The electrowetting display panel includes two or more different optical color-converting liquid layers and a plurality of light-shielding liquid layers. The two or more different optical color-converting liquid layers are able to convert the light source generated by the illumination unit into light beams having two or more different colors of desired grey scales. The light-shielding liquid layers can be driven to change the transmittance of display regions so as to implement switch between transparent display mode, non-transparent display mode and semi-transparent display mode.

Switchable transparent electrowetting display device

An electro-wetting display device includes a light guide plate having a light incident surface and a light output surface, a light source, a transparent electrode, a dielectric layer, a transparent non-polar solution layer, a counter substrate, a light emitting material layer, a counter electrode layer and a transparent polar solution layer. The light source is disposed near the light incident surface. The transparent electrode layer is disposed on the light output surface. The dielectric layer covers the transparent electrode layer and has refractive index n. The transparent non-polar solution layer is disposed on the dielectric layer and has refractive index n, and n&#x2267;n. The counter substrate is disposed above the transparent non-polar solution layer. The light emitting material layer and the counter electrode are disposed on the counter substrate. The transparent polar solution layer is disposed between the counter substrate and the light guide plate.

Electro-wetting display device and driving method thereof

A pixel structure including a pair of first sub-pixels, a pair of second sub-pixels and an electrical tunable photonic crystal layer is provided. The pair of first sub-pixels are substantially identical in area, and the pair of second sub-pixels are substantially identical in area. The area of each second sub-pixel is twice the area of each first sub-pixel. In addition, the electrical tunable photonic crystal layer is disposed over the pair of first sub-pixels and the pair of second sub-pixels.

An electro-wetting display panel including an active device array substrate, a dielectric layer, a wall structure, a first liquid containing dyes, a second liquid, and an opposite substrate is provided. The active device array substrate includes a substrate, scan lines, data lines, and pixels. The pixels are electrically connected with the scan lines and the data lines accordingly. Each pixel includes an active device, a transparent pixel electrode, and a reflective layer. The transparent pixel electrode located above the reflective layer is electrically connected with the active device. The reflective layer has a bumpy surface. The dielectric layer is disposed on the active device array substrate. The wall structure is disposed on the dielectric layer. The first liquid is disposed on the dielectric layer. The opposite substrate is disposed above the active device array substrate. The second liquid is disposed between the active device array substrate and the opposite substrate.
