A capillary array capable of being easily mounted on an electrophoresis apparatus without damaging the capillaries. The capillary array can include a plurality of capillaries that can be fixed via hollow electrodes on a load header in a matrix arrangement. The load header can be disposed on the electrophoresis apparatus. The capillary array can include a capillary frame onto which a capillary head and a detection portion can be detachably mounted. The structure allows the load header, the capillary head, the detection unit and other portions of the capillary array to be handled as a unit, thereby making it easier to mount the capillary array on the electrophoresis apparatus.

Capillary array and electrophoresis apparatus, and methods

An electrophoresis analysis method and apparatus capable of maintaining high reliability upon a repeated use of the same gel. A heat transfer medium selected from the group consisting of solids, liquids and gels is filled in substantially all of the gaps between the electrode and each capillary. A hollow electrode into which a capillary is inserted has a plurality of retaining shapes such that the capillary can be fixed at the center of the electrode. The heat from the capillary can be efficiently dissipated via the electrode, and also the temperature increase in the capillary can be prevented. Further, temperature increases due to the heating of the capillaries during operation can be controlled and thereby thermal deterioration of the gel can be prevented.

Capillary array apparatus, method of manufacturing the same, and electrophoresis analysis method

The structure of a capillary head section is made such that the liquid contacting surfaces of a capillary holder, a capillary, and an adhesive form a plane surface, and this shared liquid contacting surface is made a mirror surface with a surface roughness of 3.2 s or less. In the shared liquid contacting surface, the ratio of the total area of the capillaries to the internal diameter area of the capillary holder is made 60 to 73%.

A detector for an electromagnetic flowmeter provided with a pair of detecting electrodes disposed opposite to each other on the inner surface of a piping, through which fluid, whose flow rate is to be measured, flows, and a magnet forming a magnetic field in the direction perpendicular both to the axis of the piping and to the line connecting the detecting electrodes, in which the magnet has a pair of magnetic poles, which are so formed that the magnetic flux density is greatest in the neighborhood of the position apart from the middle point of the straight line segment connecting the detecting electrodes by 0.3 d in the direction towards each of the detecting electrodes, d being the inner diameter of the piping.

Detector for an electromagnetic flowmeter

A differential pressure transmitter has a pressure receiving portion and a sensor portion which are constituted from separate parts separably jointed with each other. The sensor portion includes a semiconductor sensor having one side formed with a resistance pattern and the other side which has a thick-walled peripheral portion and a thick-walled central portion. The semiconductor sensor is incorporated in the sensor portion as being supported at the thick-walled peripheral portion thereof. The pressure receiving portion includes seal diaphragms disposed on both sides of the pressure receiving portion and a central diaphragm disposed therein. The semiconductor sensor is arranged such that the side thereof carrying the resistance pattern faces the pressure receiving portion.
