A process manufactures an exhaust gas treatment device including a tubular circumferential wall () elongated along a longitudinal axis (L) with two axial end areas, an exhaust gas treatment unit () arranged in the circumferential wall and a closing element () connected to the circumferential wall at the two axial end areas. The exhaust gas treatment unit is held at the circumferential wall by a supporting material layer () enclosing the exhaust gas treatment unit and supporting same in relation to the circumferential wall. The process includes arranging a first of the two closing elements at one of the axial end areas of the circumferential wall, pushing the exhaust gas treatment unit enclosed by the supporting material layer into the circumferential wall from the other axial end area (), and arranging a second of the closing elements at the other axial end area of the circumferential wall.

Process for manufacturing an exhaust gas treatment device

The present invention relates to a cast steel alloy for producing cast parts with ferritic structure, wherein the alloy contains iron (Fe), carbon (C), chromium (Cr) and molybdenum (Mo). An increased resistance to intercrystalline corrosion is obtained when the alloy additionally contains titanium (Ti) and niobium (Nb).

This invention relates to an exhaust treatment device for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, particularly in a motor vehicle. The device comprises a housing in which at least one exhaust treatment insert is arranged, and which is composed of at least two housing sections at least one of which consists of a ferritic material and at least another of which consists of an austenitic material. In order to increase the thermal resistance of the device at least one ferritic housing section is secured to at least one austenitic housing section by means of a connection, wherein this connection consists of a material whose coefficient of thermal expansion lies between the coefficients of thermal expansion of the ferritic material and of the austenitic material.
