A connector assembly includes at least a first module and a second module. Each one of the first and second modules are attached together. The first module includes first terminal position assurance device for ensuring that an electrical coupling element, such as an HMTD coupler accommodated in the second module is completely inserted in its cavity formed in the second module. The first module can be replaced by another having a different number of channels, whereas the second module remains the same.

An example connector includes a housing made of a dielectric material, in which cells are formed. Terminals are housed in the cells and extend essentially in a longitudinal direction. The housing is also equipped with a terminal position assurance device having locking means interacting with a stop surface located on the terminal. The terminal position assurance device may possibly have a system of ramps arranged to move the locking means sequentially, perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction, and then parallel to the longitudinal direction. The leakage path between two terminals can then be lengthened.

The invention relates to a connector with a lever for assistance with the connection. Means for locking the lever are fitted such as to slide on the lever, between three positions, i.e. a locking position in which the means for locking the lever block the lever in its closed position, an unlocking position in which the means for locking the lever free the lever in order to allow the lever to rotate to its open position, and a delivery position, which is distinct from the locking and unlocking positions, in which the lever can be in a closed position without being blocked by the locking means. In the delivery position, the locking means are not constrained.
