A mobile machine control method includes receiving, by a single controller, a first request for movement of the machine by a ground-engaging device, receiving, by the single controller, a second request for movement of an implement system of the machine, and determining, with the single controller, an amount of desired power from an engine to satisfy the first request and the second request. The method also includes selecting an engine speed from a plurality of candidate engine speeds to produce the desired power and operating the engine at the selected engine speed to produce the desired power.

A controller may identify a plurality of sets of potential parameters associated with operation of an engine, wherein each set of potential parameters includes a potential setting of a turbine of a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) of the engine and a potential setting of an intake throttle valve (ITV) of the engine. A machine includes an engine, a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) element fixedly connected to an output of the engine, and a controller. The controller is communicatively coupled to the engine and a sensor at an output of the SCR element. The controller is configured to calculate an estimated amount of emissions at a location of the SCR element, calculate an estimated amount of emissions from an output of the SCR element, measure, using the sensor, an actual amount of emissions from the output of the SCR element, and perform a comparison of the estimated amount of emissions and the actual amount of emissions. The controller is further configured to adjust, based on the comparison, the estimated amount of emissions at the location of the SCR element, and control operation of the engine based on the adjusted amount of emissions.

Systems and methods for controlling a regeneration process of catalyst(s) are disclosed. The method includes receiving, via Kalman filter, initial estimation from a previous instance of time. The initial estimation includes one or more first estimated inside temperature(s) and/or first estimated outlet temperature of A/T catalyst. An output from a simulation model may be generated to calculate a mean and covariance. Sensor measurement covariance may be compared against the mean and covariance of the output to update Kalman filter gain and process covariance. A weighted average may be calculated between sensor measurements and mean of the output to generate a second estimation for the next instance of time, wherein weight is based on Kalman filter gain. The second estimation includes one or more second estimated inside temperature(s) and/or second estimated outlet temperature of A/T catalyst to control the mass flow rate in diesel engine via a closed loop control system.

Systems and methods for controlling a dosing of reductant for an internal combustion engine system including a catalyst are disclosed. The method includes measuring a value indicative of inlet temperature of the catalyst. When the inlet temperature is less than or equal to a first threshold, the method includes adjusting the dosing of reductant according to a first process. When the inlet temperature is greater than the first threshold, the method includes adjusting the dosing of reductant according to a second process, the second process being different than the first process.

A method for controlling an engine includes receiving a predetermined quantity of sensor values from a memory operatively connected to a sensor, each of the sensor values indicative of an operating condition of an inlet of a diesel particulate filter of the engine sensed by the sensor at a successive instance in time. A parameter of the operating condition of the inlet at a next instance of time may be estimated based on the predetermined quantity of sensor values. The estimation of the parameter may be used as a boundary condition to adjust an operational model of the engine stored in the memory. The adjusted operational model may be used to determine an engine command for the engine that optimizes operation of the engine. The engine may be operated based on the engine command determined using the adjusted operational model.

A damage analysis and control system is disclosed. An example process may include receiving a data set of measurements associated with a period of operation of a power system. The data set of measurements may identify a frequency that the power system is in an operating state during the period of operation, and the data set of measurements may identify a frequency of damage measurements associated with the operating state. The process may include determining, using a damage model and the data set of measurements, a damage score for the operating state during the period of operation of the power system. The process may include determining that the damage score satisfies a threshold damage score associated with the damage model and performing an action associated with the power system based on the damage score satisfying the threshold damage score.

A method for controlling an internal combustion engine system including a particulate filter includes receiving a desired output for an internal combustion engine and receiving sensor information including information indicative of a quantity of soot in the particulate filter. The method includes calculating a plurality of sets of engine performance values based on respective sets of candidate control points, each set of engine performance values including a soot change rate at which the quantity of soot changes over time and determining whether the soot change rate satisfies a soot change rate limit that requires an increase in the quantity of soot in the particulate filter. A fuel injector controller is disclosed. The fuel injector controller may determine respective values of a set of parameters of the engine; process, using a neural network, the respective values to determine a target fuel output of a fuel injector, wherein the neural network is configured to determine the target fuel output based on the set of parameters being an input layer of the neural network; determine, based on an output of the neural network, the target fuel output; and provide the determined target fuel output to the fuel injector to permit the fuel injector to inject fuel according to the target fuel output.
