Rope guide arrangement, deflection device, and method for guiding a leader strip of a material web through a device. The arrangement includes at least two ropes being arranged offset relative to one another in a first plane defined by a machine direction and a transverse machine direction. Further, the at least two ropes are arranged offset relative to one another in a second plane oriented at a non-zero angle from the first plane.

A method for threading a running paper web from a preceding section to a following section of a paper-making or paper-finishing machine, includes the steps of: providing a threading tail of the running paper web by cutting it from the running paper web at least one of its edges; providing at least one sensing element for gaining data from at least one property of the threading tail and/or threading process; transferring the gained data into a data collecting system and/or into an analysis system; and using the data for influencing the at least one property of the threading tail and/or the threading process.

Method and system for threading a running paper web

An apparatus is available for transferring a flexible material web from an upstream section to at least one downstream section of a machine having a web running direction. The machine is configured for at least one of manufacturing and treating the material web. The apparatus includes two separation elements configured for splitting and thereby separating the material web into an edge strip, an adjoining transfer strip and a remaining web adjoining the transfer strip, the edge strip extending in the web running direction. The apparatus further includes at least one deflection device configured for deflecting the edge strip away from the transfer strip and simultaneously tautening the edge strip upon deflection thereof.

Method and apparatus for the transferring of a flexible material web

An apparatus transfers a moving web of a flexible material from a web guide surface. The web guide surface outputs the moving web, and the moving web has at least one web edge. The apparatus includes at least one edge nozzle, each edge nozzle being positioned so as to be proximate one at least one web edge. Each edge nozzle is configured for separating the moving web from the web guide surface and is further configured to function as a severing device. Each edge nozzle is thereby configured for transversely severing the moving web and forming a new start portion thereof. Each edge nozzle briefly ejects therefrom a high-energy air jet, each high-energy air jet being ejected between the web guide surface and the moving web.

Method and apparatus for transferring a web

A vacuum belt conveyor includes an air-pervious endless belt, a first pulley positioned at the upstream end of the conveyor and a second pulley positioned at the downstream end of the conveyor, the pulleys guiding the belt when the belt is traveling. The endless belt comes into contact with a plate having openings which are connected to a source of negative pressure. The belt, in the area of the upstream end of the conveyor, is in contact with a curved and perforated guiding surface, with the perforations, being connected to a source of negative pressure.
