A power terminal includes a contact portion, a connection portion, and an intermediate portion. The contact and intermediate portions include conductive layers stacked along a direction corresponding to their respective thicknesses. The contact portion includes a main top surface and at least one contact area protruding from the main top surface. Each layer in the contact portion includes at least one first embossed region, the at least one first embossed region of each layer being registered with the at least one first embossed region of an adjacent layer, and the at least one first embossed region of a top layer forming the at least one contact area. A set of power terminals including a plurality of such a power terminal and a connector including such a power terminal are also disclosed.

Electrical contact for an electrical connector, produced by cutting and bending at least one strip of electrically conducting material. This electrical contact comprises a first wall itself comprising an edge that is adjacent to an edge of a second wall. The first wall has at least one cutout, open onto the edge of the first wall. The second wall has at least one tooth projecting from the edge of the second wall. The tooth is forcibly inserted into the cutout and extends in the plane of the first wall.

A male power terminal and method for manufacturing a male power terminal are described. This terminal comprises a contact portion and a connection portion intended to electrically connect the terminal to an electrical circuit. This method comprises an operation of cutting a metal sheet, to form the contact portion and the connection portion. This method also comprises an operation of forming of bending the metal sheet so as to form the contact portion with a tubular shaped and a connection portion with two thicknesses of metal sheet. The method also comprises inserting a portion of a protection cap into the contact portion.

Method for manufacturing a male power terminal, and male power terminal

In a connection assembly comprising a male contact and a female contact, the female contact comprises a plurality of elastic blades extending longitudinally along a central axis parallel to a direction of insertion. Each of these blades comprises two bent contact zones to form, respectively, a first and a second contact surfaces that are convex and essentially oriented towards the central axis on each of these bent zones. The first contact surface is situated closer than the second contact surface to the free end of the blade on which they are formed.

The present invention relates to an electrical terminal for a female connector. The terminal includes a contact blade having a first sheet plane. The contact blade is configured to contact an electrical pin with a contact force when the terminal is mated with the electrical and a separate support blade having a second sheet plane. The support blade engages with a corresponding contact blade to increase the contact force. The first and second sheet planes are orientated substantially perpendicular to each other. The support blade includes an engaging portion configured to engage the corresponding contact blade transversely in a middle of the corresponding contact blade.
