The invention relates to a membrane element for covering surfaces, more particularly for covering ceilings or walls, comprising a frame and a membrane material stretched over said frame. The membrane element is characterized in that at least one frame region is bent inwardly due to forces exerted on the frame by the membrane material and that the inwardly bent frame region has tightening units for pulling or pushing said frame region outwardly with respect to an abutment, towards the unbent state. The invention further relates to a method for covering surfaces, more particularly for covering ceilings or walls.

Membrane element and method for covering surfaces, more particularly for ceilings or walls

A lining comprising at least two opposing profiled frame elements in spaced relationship to each other, at least one membrane element disposed between said profiled frame elements and connected to said profiled frame elements, at least partially, by means of rearwardly engaging fastening means and at least one taughtening means adapted to taughten said membrane element between said profiled frame elements. The membrane element has, as taughtening means, at least one taughtening zip fastener, wherein the state of the membrane element can be changed, by closing the taughtening zip fastener, to a state in which it is taughtened between the profiled frame elements. Installation and opening of the membrane field can be significantly simplified by the inclusion of a second, so-called access zip fastener.

Lining

A lining comprising at least two profiled frame elements extending in a longitudinal direction along the surface to be covered in spaced relationship to each other and at least one membrane element having a face side and a reverse side remote from the face side and disposed between the profiled frame elements and connected to the profiled frame elements, at least partially, by means of rearwardly engaging attachment means, wherein the membrane element, when in a loose state, is capable of moving freely in the longitudinal direction and, in particular, is free to move into and out of an space between the profiled frame elements. The lining further comprises means adapted to one-dimensionally or two-dimensionally taughten the membrane element in the transverse and longitudinal directions between the profiled frame elements.

The present invention relates to a method for lining an in particular flat surface with a flexible covering material, particularly textile material, in which the surface is lined with one or more flexible covering material pieces and in which the material piece or pieces are stretched. The method is inventively characterized in that for stretching a material piece at least one stretching rail with a holding side and an assembly side is used, that the stretching rail is brought into pivotable engagement on the holding side with a holding rail provided on the flat side, that a first side of the material piece is brought into tensile loadable engagement with the assembly side of the stretching rail, that second side of the material piece is directly or indirectly connected to the flat surface and that the stretching rail is pivoted for stretching the flexible covering material and fixed in a stretching position. The invention also relates to a lining for an in particular flat surface.
