An optical insulated core with a coated optical fiber () shows a core jacket () with a core jacket material containing polyvinylchloride () which is applied to the coating of the optical fiber. It contains a solid component () distributed within the core jacket material, which produces a mechanical separation effect against the coating of the optical fiber. The solid component () is mixed and distributed into the core jacket material during a compounding process. Thus the core jacket can be removed from the coating of the optical fiber in a simple way.

An elongate product (BA ) is transported away from its storage device (VT) in such a way that at least one loop (SL) is formed at at least one longitudinal point on its running path (AW ). Changes in the geometric shape of the loop (SL) are registered and used to control or regulate the outward transport movement of the elongate product (BA ).
