Systems and methods for integrating a third-party service into a host application enable multiple modes of integration of the data from the third-party services into the host application. The multiple modes include a first mode of integration that involves a data connection to a third-party service, a second mode of integration that involves the use of third-party extensions that provide predefined user interface elements for interacting with the third-party service, and a third mode of integration that involves the use of an iFrame element in the host application for hosting the third-party service. The modes may be activated and switched from within the application so that the user does not have to leave the context of the application to interact with the third-party service.

Multi-mode in-context service integration

Web-based single sign-on can enable a user to log in to a single interface (such as through a web browser or thin client) and then provide SSO services to the user for one or more web applications. The web-based SSO system can be extended to support one or more different access control methods, such as form-fill, Federated (OIF), SSO Protected (OAM), and other policies. The web-based SSO system can include a user interface through which the user can access different web applications, systems, etc. and manage their credentials. Each SSO service can be associated with a web interface allowing the SSO services to be accessed over the web. The web interfaces can provide CRUD (create, read, update, delete) functionality for each SSO service. To support different access policy types, the web-based SSO system can include an extensible data manager that can manage data access to different types of repositories transparently.

Virtualized data storage and management of policy and credential data sources

A method, computer system, and graphical user interface for presenting an interactive hierarchy and indicating entry of information therein is disclosed. An interactive hierarchy is used to organize information using nodes arranged in multiple levels, where the interactive hierarchy may also be used to select a node to operate on. The interactive hierarchy may provide sense-of-place by depicting the organization of the nodes and indicating which node a user is operating on. An indicator is also provided which indicates whether one or more types of information have been entered for a given node, level of nodes, etc., thereby providing sense-of-task by enabling a user to determine which types of information have already been entered, which types of information have yet to be entered, etc. Further, a task indicator may be provided for stepping users through various information entry and/or management tasks, thereby further improving sense-of-task.
