Systems and techniques are provided for routing an autonomous vehicle (AV) in a flood condition. An example method can include collecting sensor data from one or more AVs, wherein the sensor data includes measurements associated with a level of precipitation in one or more locations; receiving map data descriptive of an elevation of ground at the one or more locations; determining that the level of precipitation in the one or more locations relative to the elevation of ground at the one or more locations is higher than a threshold; and transmitting an alert signal to the one or more AVs, the alert signal notifying of a flood condition at the one or more locations.

Systems and methods for providing autonomous chauffeur services. In particular, systems and methods are provided to integrate users' calendars with a ridehail application to provide personal chauffeur-type services. Integrating a ridehail service application with a user's calendar and online schedule enables the ridehail service to act as a personal around-the-clock chauffeur, with an autonomous vehicle appearing when needed and taking the user to their destination with no additional input.

In particular, systems and methods are provided for offering alternative authentication methods that automatically engage child-friendly features. The systems and methods provided enable unsupervised children to take advantage of autonomous rideshare and delivery programs using child-friendly authentication methods. Additionally, augmented autonomous vehicle safety and security practices for children are provided.

A method for a video communication system for a rideshare system includes conducting at least a portion of a video communication session involving a passenger using at least one exterior audio/video component on an exterior surface of an AV dispatched to a designated location; and transferring the video communication session to at least one interior audio/video component on an interior of the AV.

A designated location preview method includes obtaining an image of a portion of an environment of a vehicle dispatched to a designated location in response to a service request from a user, wherein the obtaining is performed using at least one onboard sensor of the vehicle; and displaying the image of the environment portion on a user interface (UI) of a user device substantially in real-time.
