An electronic assembly is provided. The electronic assembly includes a heat-spreader component and at least one spring. The electronic assembly further includes a thermal pad contacting the at least one spring, and at least one layer of polymer directly contacting at least one of an upper surface and a lower surface of the thermal pad. Further disclosed is a method of assembling the electronic assembly. The method includes adhering a heat-dissipating sheet on a surface of a metal heat-spreader component. The method also includes placing a thermal pad on at least one spring extending from the surface of the metal heat-spreader component, and placing at least one layer of polymer so as to directly contact at least one of an upper surface and a lower surface of the thermal pad.

Disclosed embodiments are directed an application program configured to run on a user's mobile device can allow voice-activated call pick-up to the user, without the user having to use his or her hands for picking up the call. For example, the application program can initially be trained to a user's voice command. When an incoming call is received at the mobile device, the user can pick up the call by issuing a voice command. In some embodiments, the application program can determine whether to allow voice-activated pick-up of calls based on data collected from multiple sensors associated with the vehicle, the mobile device, or a remote source.

A device for testing remote controls includes a main board, a data acquisition module (DAM), and one or more testing components. The main board communicates a testing instruction to the testing components which, then provide stimuli to a remote under test (RUT). The DAM receives, from the testing components, result data indicative of reaction(s) by the RUT to the stimuli. At least one of the stimuli is provided to the RUT and the result data is received by the DAM from the testing components. A first testing component provides a first stimuli to the RUT substantially simultaneously with a second testing component providing a second stimuli to the RUT. The first stimuli may include an acceleration of the RUT and the second stimuli may emulate a user action. The emulated user action emulates a button press, a button release, an audible input, and a touch screen action.

Automated remote control tester

A device for transferring heat from a device component to an environment includes a heat plate connected to a spring. A first fastener attaches the spring to the heat plate at a first location. A second fastener, such as a rivet, attaches the spring to the heat plate at each of a second and a third location. The second fastener includes a tab on and extending above the heat plate and corresponding tab slot on the spring. The spring is riveted to the heat plate at the first location and a second spring member accepts the tab at each of the second location and the third location. Ribs on a top surface of spring facilitate thermal coupling of the spring to the component when the device is assembled. One or more spring curvatures facilitate vertical deflection and horizontal extension of the spring during device assembly.

Heat spreader device

A heat transfer assembly includes a heat plate coupled to a spring and to a graphite sheet. The spring is at first location corresponding to a heat source in an assembled device. The graphite sheet extends over at least a middle portion of the spring and over portions of the heat plate. The graphite sheet is coupled to a thermal pad positioned above a given surface of the heat source. The spring provides a compressive force on the thermal pad when the device is in an assembled state. The compressive force enhances thermal conductivity between the heat source and the heat transfer assembly. The heat plate may be positioned within and thermally coupled to a cover of the device. Principally by use of the thermal pad, graphite sheet, and thermal plate, heat generated by the heat source is transferred to the cover and then to the external environment.

Various embodiments of a curved-tip screwdriver bit are presented. The bit may include a shank, a body connected with the shank, and a tip disposed at an end of the body. The tip may include curved blades that project from the end of the shaft. A first curved blade may have a first arc shaped cross section. A second curved blade may have a second arc shaped cross section. A radius of the second arc-shaped cross section may be greater than a radius of the first arc-shaped cross section of the first curved blade.

Heat spreader assembly

Systems, electronic devices, and methods are directed to a self-adjustable heat spreader. A spring system may include one or more spring members and a contact surface adapted to contact a circuit board component. Each spring member may include a thermally conductive material. A thermal spreader plate may be coupled to the one or more spring members. The spring system and the thermal spreader plate may be configured to allow movement, with respect to the thermal spreader plate along multiple axes, of one or more portions of the one or more spring members proximate to the thermal spreader plate when the contact surface is pressed against the circuit board component and the spring system transitions from a first state to a compressed state. The contact surface and the spring system may be configured to transfer heat between the circuit board component and the thermal spreader plate.
