An inductive switch comprises an inductor that has a primary metallic winding having a boundary configured in shape of a figure eight, such as in two loops, and a plurality of secondary metallic windings arranged within the boundary of the primary metallic winding. The inductive switch includes a plurality of switches, each switch arranged in series with a respective one of the plurality of secondary metallic windings. An equal number of the secondary windings is arranged within each loop. A tunable inductor comprises at least one main metallic loop and at least one secondary metallic loop, wherein the at least one secondary metallic loop comprises a switch that is arranged to configure the at least one secondary metallic loop into at least one shorted metallic loop or at least one closed metallic loop. The at least one shorted loop is floating.

Oscillator frequency range extension using switched inductor

Various designs for MOS transistor-based RF switch topologies for high speed capacitive tuning of oscillators switch circuits include a main switch device comprising a gate connected to a control terminal, a drain connected to a first terminal that is connected to the first capacitor, and a source connected to a second terminal that is connected to the second capacitor. The switch further comprises a first NMOS device having a gate connected to the main switch device gate, a source connected to a ground, and a drain connected to the first terminal. The switch further comprises a second NMOS device having a gate connected to the main switch device gate, a source connected to a ground, and a drain connected to the second terminal. The switch further comprises a pair of PMOS devices each having drains connected respectively to the first and second terminals.

MOS transistor-based RF switch topologies for high speed capacitive tuning of oscillators

An apparatus for providing oscillator signals includes an oscillator circuit configured to generate a first oscillator signal with a first oscillator signal frequency for a frequency conversion of a first signal to be converted and to generate a second oscillator signal with a second oscillator signal frequency for a frequency conversion of a second signal to be converted. The oscillator circuit is configured to enable the generation of the first oscillator signal with the first oscillator signal frequency and the second oscillator signal with the second oscillator signal frequency based on at least two different possible oscillator circuit configurations. The control circuit is configured to select, based on the first oscillator signal frequency and the second oscillator signal frequency, one of the possible oscillator circuit configurations of the oscillator circuit for generating the first oscillator signal and the second oscillator signal.
