Range gearbox for motor vehicles adapted to be connected to the output side of a basic gearbox and including planetary gear (), enclosed in a housing (), with a sun wheel () arranged on an input shaft () and engaged with planet wheels (). The ring gear () is selectively lockable in order to establish gearing between the input shaft and the output shaft. Interacting tooth faces of the planetary gear () are angled in such a manner in relation to the longitudinal axis of the input shaft () and the output shaft () so that an axial force arises on the ring gear () from gear speed changes during synchronizing, and this force, at least on shifting to the low range position, tends to move the ring gear in the same direction as an external shifting force.

Range gearbox

Method and arrangement for providing a range gearbox with a planetary gear () for a motor vehicle that is configured to be connected to the output side of a basic gearbox. The ring gear () of the planetary gear is axially displaceable. The ring gear () can alternatively engage coupling rings (). A synchronizing ring () is intended to synchronize the rotational speed difference between the ring gear () and one or other coupling ring (). The synchronizing ring () and the coupling ring () are arranged coaxially outside the ring gear (). Bars () for engaging the coupling ring () and bars () for driving said synchronizing ring () are arranged on the radially external side of the ring gear (). The coupling ring () is arranged between the synchronizing ring () and the fork ().

Hydraulic control system for a vehicle transmission connected to an output shaft from a hydraulic torque converter () with a hydraulically operated disc clutch for locking the torque converter and which has two hydraulically operated disc clutches for shifting. The control system has a low pressure circuit () with a low-pressure pump feeding fluid through the torque converter, and a high pressure circuit () with a high-pressure pump (), which feeds fluid via valves () to the disc clutches. The high-pressure pump has variable displacement, which is regulated by the operating pressure of the disc clutch of the torque converter, so that the high-pressure pump is set to a lower displacement when this last-mentioned clutch is engaged than when it is disengaged.

Hydraulic regulating system for a vehicle transmission

Method and arrangement for providing a synchronization device that is provided in a range gear assembly within planetary gearing in a vehicle. During synchronization and gear changing, at least one spring suspension element ( ) transmits bearing force from the clutch sleeve to the synchronization ring by means of cooperation with first recesses ( ) in the clutch sleeve ( ). The clutch sleeve, clutch rings, synchronization ring and spring suspension elements are provided on one side of the ring gear ( ). The synchronization ring ( ) is constructed together with an additional mirror-inverted synchronization ring in order to form a double synchronization ring ( ). The clutch sleeve ( ), during its axial movement for engagement of gear, separates the friction surfaces ( ) in the synchronization device to the gear, which becomes disengaged by means of the fact that at least one second recess ( ) is provided on the double synchronization ring ( ) and that a spring suspension element ( ) cooperates with the second recess ( ) as well.

Synchronization device of locking ring type

Vehicle gearbox with a control shaft rotatably and axially displacebly mounted transversely to the axial direction of the vehicle gearbox, the rotational movement of the control shaft from a neutral position effecting, via motion-transmitting elements, engagement of a gear speed. A lock element cooperating with the control shaft is coordinated with a sensor sensing the position of a clutch connected to the gearbox, and locks the control shaft in the neutral position when the clutch pedal is not depressed.

Motor vehicle gearbox

A vehicle gearbox includes a basic gearbox with a main shaft that is an input shaft to a high-low range gearset joined to the basic gearbox. The basic gearbox has a control shaft, which, rotated in either direction from a neutral position, engages a selected gear. The control shaft is coordinated with a lock-out device which is controlled by a first sensor, which senses the speed of the output shaft from the range gearbox, and a second sensor which senses the engaged range in the range gearbox. An operating device holds the lock-out device in a lock-out position which prevents rotation of the control shaft towards the position for the lowest synchronized gear in the basic box, when the vehicle speed exceeds a predetermined speed in the low range of the gearbox.

A gearbox for automotive vehicles includes two mutually concentrically journalled input shafts (6,9), each of which drives a respective lay-shaft (12,15). A gear wheel (17,19) disengageably mounted on each lay-shaft meshes with a common, disengageable gear wheel (22) on the output shaft (20) of the gearbox. When driving in first gear, the one lay-shaft (12) drives the other lay-shaft (15) via the disengaged or declutched common gear wheel (20) on the output shaft.
