A method and measuring device intended for a window-cleaning system of a motor vehicle, wherein the freezing temperature is determined by continuous cooling of a representative partial volume of the liquid inside a chamber. For this purpose, measurements are made of the temperature while the liquid is cooled, which first drops in accordance with the heat dissipation until the start of the phase change initiating the freezing, and in the process leads the heat of solidification released to a temporary temperature plateau. The freezing temperature can be reliably determined in this way for each chemical composition of the liquid.

Filling level indicators for washer fluid containers in motor vehicles have hitherto been arranged directly on the washer fluid container or been integrated in the instrument cluster on the motor vehicle. Despite the available information, the filling of the container when the level is too low is often delayed. A filling level indicator more effectively indicates the filling level by arranging the filling level indicator in the region of the tank filler neck, whereby the filling level in the washer fluid container is only indicated to the driver when he has in any case interrupted his journey in order to fill up with fuel and is free from other activities, so that it is virtually impossible for him to be distracted.

A lock suitable for use in a motor vehicle door has a rotary latch, a locking wedge, a pawl, a setting device, and a transmission device wherein the rotary latch cooperates with the locking wedge to be locked in a locking position by the pawl. Upon actuation of a manipulator, the setting device brings the pawl electrically at least into one opening position. The transmission device brings the pawl into its opening position by actuation of the manipulator over a displacement range which is greater than a displacement range of an electric unlocking.

A device for heating washing liquid of a windshield wiper system of a motor vehicle has a heating device (11) provided with an electric resistance element (13) and developed for heating of a small amount of washing liquid intended for a small number of cleanings of a windshield, which amount of washing liquid is present in an intermediate storage (2). In this way, an amount of washing liquid sufficient for the cleaning of the windshield is available after only a short period of operation of the motor vehicle.

In a rain sensor system for a motor vehicle, a sensor element is provided as separate part for attachment in the vicinity of a vehicle window. The sensor element is wiped by a separate wiper blade which is fastened to a windshield wiper or driven by the latter. As a function of the a degree of wetness present on its top, the sensor element supplies electric signals to an evaluation electronics. Above a limit value of the signals, the evaluation electronics connects the windshield wiper.
