Door operation management system

An automatic door operator () in adapted for use in an entrance system () that comprises a swing door member () being operable between a closed position () which prevents passage, and an open position () which admits passage. The automatic door operator () has an electric motor (), an activation sensor () configured for manual actuation by a person wishing to pass through the entrance system, and a controller () having a normal operating mode and an emergency mode. In the normal operating mode, the controller is responsive to the activation sensor () and configured for, when the activation sensor () is actuated, controlling the motor () to generate torque for causing the door member () in the entrance system () to move from the closed position () to the open position (), and to stay in the open position () during a configured hold open period ().

Swing door-based entrance system with improved operability in emergency mode

Provided is a swing door operator () for moving a door leaf () between a first position and a second position. The swing door operator () is arranged to operate in a powered and a powerless mode and comprises a permanent magnet DC motor (). The motor () is arranged to move the door leaf () at least from the second position to the first position in the powered mode. The swing door operator () further comprises a mechanical drive unit (), arranged to move the door leaf from the first position to the second position in the powerless mode. In the powerless mode, at least one resistive device is electrically connected in parallel with the motor () and arranged to limit a current generated by the motor () in response to the movement of the door leaf () from the first position to the second position by means of the mechanical drive unit (). A method for controlling the swing door operator is also provided.

Swing door operator operable in powered and powerless mode

A method () for testing of a door operator (), the door operator () being configured to via a mechanism () move at least one door leaf () between a first position and a second position. The door operator () includes a first drive unit () configured to optionally move the door leaf () into said first position and a control unit () connected to a sensor (). The method includes the steps of initiating a simulated powerless mode, measuring operation of the door leaf by the sensor, and comparing measured values of movement with reference values.

Method for testing a door operator

An entrance system () comprises a swing door member () having a door leaf (), and a sensor unit (S; S) mounted to the door leaf (), the sensor unit comprising a door angle sensor (S). The entrance system () further comprises an automatic door operator () having a motor () capable of causing movement of the door member (), a controller () for controlling operation of the motor (), and a linkage () connected to the automatic door operator () and the door leaf () for transferring torque generated by the motor () to the door leaf (). The automatic door operator () is operable in a learn mode () and an operational mode (). In the learn mode (), the controller establishes a linkage reduction curve () relating a movement of said door member () with the torque required to move the door leaf () through different angles (α). The door leaf angles are determined from measurement readings of said door angle sensor (S). In the operational mode (), the controller compensates for a non-linear torque transfer characteristic of the linkage () by applying the linkage reduction curve () to control the motor ().

Swing door-based entrance system with automatic recognition of linkage reduction

Disclosed is a method () of providing finger pinch protection at a hinge area of a swing door-based entrance system () having a motorized automatic door operator () for opening () of the swing door () in an automatic mode of the entrance system (), wherein the entrance system () also has a manual mode in which a human user may cause opening and closing of the swing door () by manual force. The method involves monitoring (), by a first sensor function (S), for presence of a person or object in a first zone (PD) at the first door leaf surface (-) and non-proximate to a vertical door edge (). The method also involves monitoring, by a second sensor function (S), for presence of a person or object in a second zone (PDHA) at the first door leaf surface (-) and proximate to said vertical door edge (). When any of the first sensor function (S) or second sensor function (S) detects presence in the first zone (PD) or second zone (PDHA) in the automatic mode during an ongoing opening of the swing door (), the automatic door operator () is controlled so as to stop opening of the swing door (). When the second sensor function (S) detects presence in the second zone (PDHA) in the manual mode, the automatic door operator () is controlled so as to counteract an attempt by a human user to manually open the swing door (). A corresponding entrance system () is also disclosed.

Finger pinch protection for an entrance system

A swing door operator system is described, the system including a first swing door operator, a second swing door operator, and at least one door leaf hinged connected at an opening in the wall. The first swing door operator is connected to a first side of the door leaf, the second swing door operator is connected to a second side of the door leaf, the first side of the door leaf is opposite to the second side of the door leaf, and the first swing door operator and the second swing door operator interact to move the door leaf between an open and closed position.

Parallel operation of door operators

A swing door operator for moving a door leaf between an open and a closed position is described, the swing door operator including at least one drive unit that has a motor and a spring, the motor and spring being arranged to interact to enable moving the swing door leaf between the open and closed positions. The swing door operator also has a control unit that is operatively connected to the drive unit and thereby to the motor and that controls different modes of door operation.

Drive arrangement for door operator

A swing door operator for moving at least one door leaf between a first and a second position includes a motor and a mechanical drive unit connected to and capable of moving the at least one door leaf from the first position to the second position, and a braking circuit connected to the motor. The braking circuit includes a diode circuit arranged to apply a voltage drop to the motor. The motor is adapted to act as a generator and is configured to generate a voltage when the drive unit moves the at least one door leaf, and to brake a movement of the at least one door leaf when the voltage generated by the motor is larger than the voltage drop applied by the diode circuit. The diode circuit includes at least three diodes connected in series.

Closing speed control in power off

A control arrangement for an entrance system, having one or more movable door members and an automatic door operator for causing movements of the one or more movable door members between closed and open positions, includes a controller and one or more sensor units. Each sensor unit is connected to the controller and arranged to monitor a respective zone at the entrance system for presence or activity of a person or object. At least one sensor is an image-based sensor unit having an image sensor arranged for capturing an image of an external object, a memory arranged for storing a plurality of settings for the image-based sensor unit, and a processing device. The processing device is arranged for processing the image captured by the image sensor to identify a machine-readable optical code therein, deriving a configuration instruction encoded by the optical code, and executing the configuration instruction.

Configuration of entrance systems having one or more movable door members

A door operator and a method for set-up of the door operator to operate a door leaf of a door set, with the door operator including a control unit, a drive unit, and a user interface, include the steps of receiving a set of set-up parameters for the door operator, installing the set of set-up parameters in the control unit, controlling the drive unit based on the set of set-up parameters installed in the control unit, and sending the set of set-up parameters to a remote server via a communication network for storing a backup of the set of set-up parameters on the remote server.
