A battery system includes a central battery management controller and a plurality of battery modules, which each have a module controller, and a readout device configured to read information. Within a scope of a start initialization, start identification features of the module controllers are detected by the battery management controller and are provided to the module controllers as future reference for identifying an unauthorized battery module replacement, and information relating to an occurred unauthorized battery module replacement is read by the readout device, which is arranged outside of the battery system.

A method for determining the charge state of a battery pack consisting of a number 'N' of individual battery cells, includes determining the charge state of each individual battery cell SOCi for all i=1,N. The mean value of the charge states of the individual battery cells, mean (SOCi), is also determined. The method further includes determining a weighting 'w' from the equation where w=gw(mean(SOCi)). The following applies for the function gw(SOC): the function value tends towards a minimum value of wmin when the argument tends toward the minimum charge state of a complete discharge SOCmin. The function value tends toward a maximum value of wmax when the argument tends towards the maximum charge state of a complete charge SOCmax; and the function gw( ) is continuous.

Method for determining the charge state of a battery pack

The invention relates to a traction battery having a first battery cell group and a second battery cell group. A first connection of the first battery cell group is connected to a first battery pole by a charging and disconnecting device, a second connection of the first battery cell group is connected to a first service plug connection, a first connection of the second battery cell group is connected to a second service plug connection, and a second connection of the second battery cell group is connected to a second battery pole by a disconnecting device. The first service plug connection and the second service plug connection can be short-circuited by an external service plug. According to the invention, such a traction battery comprises a first jumper connected between the first battery pole and the first service plug connection, by means of which the first battery pole and the first service plug connection can be short-circuited, and/or a second jumper device connected between the second battery pole and the second service plug connection, by means of which the second battery pole and the second service plug connection can be short-circuited.
