A tourniquet cuff for placement on a limb, having an inflatable body which encloses an inflatable chamber and which can be inflated with a compressed gas so as to create blood flow restriction in the limb, with the inflatable body being formed from an elongated support made of a bendable support material extending along a longitudinal direction and from a stretchable wall made of a stretchable material attached to the support. To enable thorough and easy cleaning and sterilization of the tourniquet cuff and easy placement on a limb and to ensure the most uniform possible distribution of the pressure exerted by the tourniquet cuff on the limb, the stretchable wall is affixed to the elongated support while the stretchable material is stretched at least in the longitudinal direction. A method of manufacturing the tourniquet cuff is also disclosed.

Tourniquet cuff

A control apparatus for a tourniquet device, to which tourniquet device a first compression cuff and/or at least one second compression cuff can be connected, with the compression cuffs having different volumes. The tourniquet device has an inflation apparatus for inflating the connected compression cuff. In order to present a tourniquet apparatus that enables the most efficient and in particular fast inflation of the tourniquet cuff possible and at the same time the most error-free operation of the tourniquet apparatus possible, a parameter set for controlling an inflation process of the respective compression cuff is associated with each compression cuff and is stored in a data memory of the control apparatus. The parameter set associated with each compression cuff depends on the volume of the compression cuff. A method for controlling a tourniquet device and a control system for controlling a tourniquet apparatus having a tourniquet device that has an inflation apparatus and a control apparatus and having a compression cuff that can be applied to a limb and connected to the inflation apparatus.

A dental system may trans-illuminate teeth using a light source for producing examination radiation by directing the examination radiation at a tooth to be examined. An optical image of the tooth illuminated by the examination radiation may be acquired. The light source may include a light-guiding and/or light-deflecting element that faces the tooth to be examined being embedded in a transparent. The light-guiding and/or light-deflecting element may be embedded in a transparent, flexible coupling body that is provided to rest on the tooth or the gingiva of the tooth.

A dental system may transilluminate teeth using a light source for producing examination radiation by directing the examination radiation at a tooth to be examined. An optical image of the tooth illuminated by the examination radiation may be acquired.
