A connector arrangement for connecting the bare ends of a plurality of insulated conductors to a horizontal row of first contacts arranged on an electrical device, respectively, including a main housing having a side portion containing a chamber in which the electrical device is mounted, a connector housing pivotally connected with the main housing for pivotal movement about a vertical pivot axis between engaged and disengaged positions, the connector housing supporting a horizontal row of conductor contacts arranged to engage the first contacts when the contact housing is in the engaged position, and a manually-operable locking arrangement for locking the connector housing in the engaged position. The locking arrangement includes a locking projection fixed to the main housing, a catch member movably connected with the connector housing, and an actuating member for displacing the catch member between locked and unlocked positions relative to the locking projection.

Conductor connecting apparatus for connecting with a housing an insulated conductor having a bare end portion from which the insulation layer has been removed, comprising a housing containing an access opening communicating with a chamber contained within the housing, an annular mounting ring adapted for mounting concentrically about the insulated layer of the conductor, a fastening device for fastening the mounting ring to the insulated layer of the conductor, and a connecting arrangement for connecting the mounting ring with the access opening such that the conductor bare end portion extends into said housing chamber.

An electrical connector for electrically connecting a hollow bus bar member with an insulated multi-wire or braided conductor inserted axially therein, including a conductive contact screw that is threadably connected within a first opening contained in the bus bar member wall for axial displacement from a retracted position toward a fully penetrating position, thereby to cause a pointed end of the contact screw to successively pierce the adjacent insulation layer, extend diametrically through the multi-wire conductor, pierce the adjacent layer of insulation, and extend into a second opening contained in the adjacent bus bar member wall. The bus bar member may be soldered to a printed circuit board, thereby to connect the multi-wire conductor with conductors on the printed circuit board. Alternatively, plurality of bus bar members may be formed by stamping and bending from a common conductive metal sheet, with the bus bar members being interconnected by integral straps.
