A method and system for the offshore production of fuel includes an offshore marine platform on which is mounted an ammonia production unit. The ammonia production unit may produce ammonia utilizing raw materials sourced adjacent the marine platform, including seawater and electricity from offshore wind turbines. The produced ammonia may be subsequently liquified and transported away from the marine platform, or conveyed to a remote location via a seabed pipeline. A portion of the hydrogen produced as part of the ammonia production process may be utilized to operate onboard combustion turbines that can in turn drive electric generators onboard the marine platform to produce electricity.

System for offshore production of fuel

A system for offshore, direct carbon dioxide sequestration includes an offshore marine platform fixed to the ocean floor above an offshore, subsea storage reservoir. A carbon dioxide floating storage unit moored adjacent the marine platform gathers and stores carbon dioxide delivered in discreet amounts from carbon dioxide sources. Carbon dioxide sources may include carbon dioxide delivery vessels and a carbon dioxide capture system mounted on the marine platform. Once a desired volume of carbon dioxide has been gathered in the carbon dioxide floating storage unit, compressors in fluid communication with the carbon dioxide floating storage unit may be utilized to increase the pressure of the gathered carbon dioxide to a desired injection pressure, after which the pressurized carbon dioxide is pumped directly from the fixed marine platform into the subsea storage reservoir.

Offshore carbon capture and injection method and system

A method and system for the offshore production of fuel includes an offshore marine platform on which is mounted a hydrogen production unit. The hydrogen production unit may produce hydrogen utilizing raw materials sourced adjacent the marine platform, including seawater and electricity from offshore wind turbines. The produced hydrogen may then be blended onboard the marine platform with liquefied natural gas delivered to the marine platform in order to produce a blended fuel comprised of the delivered natural gas and a portion of the produced hydrogen. The blended fuel may be subsequently liquified and transported away from the marine platform, or conveyed to a remote location via a seabed pipeline, or combusted by onboard combustion turbines that can in turn drive electric generators onboard the marine platform to produce electricity.

A fluid cargo handling system includes a quick release manifold system mounted on a floating marine platform. The quick release manifold system has a first valve in fluid communication with the first end of a first fluid transfer hose to control fluid flow within the first fluid transfer hose. A first coupler is attached to the first valve. The first coupler has a first port in fluid communication with the first valve, a second port, a purging fluid inlet and a waste fluid outlet. A drain tank is in fluid communication with the first coupler via the waste fluid outlet, and a pressurized fluid source carried is in fluid communication with the first coupler via the purging fluid inlet.

Fluid cargo handling system with quick release

A fluid cargo handling system includes a marine manifold tower system and a floating marine platform on which is carried a liquid manifold assembly which is coupled to a cryogenic liquid transfer hose extending from the floating marine platform to the marine manifold tower system. The cryogenic liquid transfer hose is also connected to a cryogenic hose manifold assembly mounted on the marine manifold tower system. The marine manifold tower system includes an elongated tower having a first end secured to the seabed and a second end supporting the cryogenic hose manifold assembly, elevating the cryogenic hose manifold assembly above the water surface. The floating marine platform moves between a first position adjacent the marine manifold tower system and a second position, spaced apart from the marine manifold tower system, where the floating marine platform is in fluid communication with a fluid cargo transport vessel.

A system for offshore electricity generation and direct carbon dioxide sequestration includes an offshore marine platform on which is mounted a plurality of internal combustion engines. The marine platform is deployed above an offshore, subsea storage reservoir. The internal combustion engines drive electric generators to produce electricity. Flue gas from the internal combustion engines is directed to a carbon dioxide capture system adjacent the internal combustion engines and in fluid communication with the flue gas exhausts of the internal combustion engines. The carbon dioxide capture system captures gaseous carbon dioxide from the flue gas, and then injects the captured carbon dioxide directly into the offshore, subsea storage reservoir. Compressors in fluid communication with the carbon dioxide capture system may be utilized to increase the pressure of the captured gaseous carbon dioxide to a desired injection pressure. Electricity produced by the electric generators is conveyed to a land-based power grid.

A fluid cargo handling system with a standoff system includes a floating marine platform having an elongated first platform side, an elongated second platform side and a buoyant hull with a hull bottom. A fluid cargo transfer hose is carried on a hose reel mounted on the platform. A drive system maintains the marine platform at an offset distance from another marine platform, preventing physical contact therebetween. The drive system has at least two drive devices adjacent the first platform side and at least two drive devices adjacent the second platform side, with each of the drive devices along the first side engaging a separate driveline extending from the hull bottom adjacent the first side towards the second platform side and each of the drive devices along the second side engaging a separate driveline extending from the hull bottom adjacent the second side towards the first platform side.

A system and method are for transferring fluid cargo between a cargo vessel and a cargo connection point at open sea where the cargo vessel is required to keep an end portion of the cargo vessel up towards the resultant element force direction, wherein at least one self-propelled buoy, that is designed to be in fluid connection with the cargo connection point, is connectable to a side portion of the cargo vessel, there being a cargo line that is connectable between the self-propelled buoy and the cargo vessel, and where the self-propelled buoy is designed to keep the self-propelled buoy within predetermined radial distance boundaries from the cargo connection point also when it is attached to the cargo vessel.

Methods and arrangements of releasably mooring a ship in a definite position at a distance from land with an ability to return later to the same place. The mooring is accomplished by means of a substantially ring-shaped mooring unit, which can be raised and lowered and which has a gap along its periphery, which can be connected to and disconnected from the ship by a connectable part located below the surface of the water. The mooring unit enables a ship carrying a downwardly protruding load to pass by after disconnection and lowering of the mooring unit, and to be rotated round an essentially vertical imaginary axis.

A coupling unit device for unloading of a ship, where the coupling unit comprises a hull and is arranged to be connected to the ship by means of a connecting element wherein the coupling unit is provided with an evaporator for liquefied natural gas (LNG) and the required pipe elements for transporting liquefied natural gas from the ship to the evaporator, as well as the required pipe elements for transporting the evaporated gas from the evaporator to a pipe for onward transport. The coupling unit is free-floating and is arranged to maneuver itself to the ship during the connection and disconnection from the ship by means of its own propulsion machinery.
