A brazed heat exchanger comprises a number of heat exchanger plates () provided with a pressed pattern of ridges () and grooves () arranged such that flow channels for media to exchange heat are formed between neighboring plates (). The plates () are further provided with port openings (-) in selective communication with said flow channels and with a circumferential edge formed by skirts () of neighboring plates () overlapping one another. A reinforcement portion () extends outside the skirt (), and comprises a ribbon of sheet metal.

Reinforced heat exchanger

A brazed heat exchanger () for exchanging heat between fluids comprises a number of heat exchanging plates () provided with a pressed pattern of ridges () and grooves (). The heat exchanger plates () are stacked onto one another such that flow channels () are formed between said plates (), and the flow channels () are in selective communication with port openings (). Port skirts () are arranged on the heat exchanging plates (), said port skirts () at least partly surrounding the port openings (), extending in a generally perpendicular direction as compared to a plane of the heat exchanger plates () and being arranged to overlap one another to form a pipe like configuration or a part thereof.

Port opening of heat exchanger

A brazed heat exchanger () comprises a number of heat exchanger plates () provided with a pressed pattern of ridges and grooves to form flow channels for media to exchange heat between neighboring heat exchanger plates (). The flow channels are in selective fluid communication with port openings (). The port openings () are provided with dented surfaces () being arranged along an interior circumference of the port openings () and comprising ridges () and grooves (), said ridges () and grooves () being arranged such that a ridge () of one heat exchanger plate () contacts a groove () of a neighboring plate () to form a honeycomb pattern. The dented surfaces () are located such that they at least partly surround the port opening (), and a gable surface () is removed to increase a surface area open to fluid flow from the port openings () to the flow channels.

Port opening of brazed heat exchanger

A distribution pipe () for a heat exchanger () including at least two parallel channels for a first medium exchanging heat with a second medium comprises a distribution portion () provided with a number of holes () provided on positions corresponding to the position of the parallel channels. A fitting portion () is in fluid communication with the distribution portion () and placed at one end of such distribution portion (), wherein the fitting portion is provided with a brazing surface () adapted to be brazed onto an end plate () or a start plate ().
