Method and apparatus for automatic savings upon event detection. An electronic transfer of funds from one financial account to another financial account is performed in response to selection of a user interface element to a computer software program. For example, a user may initiate the transfer of a fixed, relatively small amount from a checking account to a savings account by selecting a user interface element configured to initiate a funds transfer transaction. Each time the user selects the user interface element, a new funds transfer transaction is generated and transmitted to a financial institution's computer system(s) via a network. Thus, for example, a user may quickly and easily transfer relatively small, fixed amounts of funds from checking into savings without changing the current context of the computer software program.

Method and apparatus for automatic savings upon event detection

A system is implemented to collect data from a plurality of different sources. The data comprises information about episodes experienced by a plurality of consumers. The system is configured to receive a cost estimate request from a user for a specified episode. The may access the data to determine a plurality of service items for the specified episode and the associated cost of each service item. An episode may be associated with one or many service items. The network-based service may generate a response to the cost estimate request. The response may include the plurality of service items determined for the specified episode and the associated cost information. The system may send the response to the user.

Various embodiments of a system and method for generating a display configured to graphically indicate a state of a series of events are described. The system and method may include a display generator configured to generate display data that defines a display configured to indicate the state of a series of events. The display generator may create display data that defines a display configured to graphically indicate such events in a chronological manner such that the user may easily view the current state of the particular process. The display data may define a display that graphically indicates multiple events from multiple entities, such as events associated with a same episode. The displays defined by the display data may include one or more visual elements that graphically indicate an event that includes the transfer of an asset between a source entity and a destination entity.
