Provided are marine fuel compositions having acceptable wax behavior. In one form, the marine fuel composition has the following enumerated properties: a kinematic viscosity at 50° C. of about 5 cSt to about 700 cSt; a wax endpoint temperature of less than about 100° C.; and a ratio of kinematic viscosity at 100° C. to operating viscosity greater than 1, wherein the operating viscosity is at least about 2 cSt. The marine fuel composition exists in a liquid phase with essentially all the wax in the composition melted (essentially free of solid wax) prior to fuel injection into a marine engine.

Marine fuel compositions with acceptable wax behavior

Fuel compositions that are low sulfur and have adequate combustion quality are disclosed. An example fuel composition that is low sulfur may have the following enumerated properties: a sulfur content of about 0.50% or less by weight of the fuel composition; a calculated carbon aromaticity index of about 870 or less; a density at 15&#xb0; C. of about 900 kg/mto about 1,010 kg/m; a kinematic viscosity at 50&#xb0; C. of about 100 centistokes to about 700 centistokes; and an estimated cetane number of about 7 or greater.

Low sulfur fuel with adequate combustion quality

Marine fuel compositions that are low sulfur and have improved wax flow viscosity are disclosed. An example marine fuel composition may have the following enumerated properties: a sulfur content of about 0.50% or less by weight of the marine fuel composition; a density at 15&#xb0; C. of about 0.86 g/cmto about 1.01 g/cm; a kinematic viscosity at 50&#xb0; C. of about 1 centistoke to about 700 centistokes; and a ratio of kinematic viscosity to wax flow viscosity of greater than 1, wherein the wax flow viscosity is determined using a minimum operating viscosity of about 8 centistokes at 50&#xb0; C.
