A User Equipment ('UE') described herein may connect or request connection to a base station of a wireless network. The base station may implement multiple frequency bands, and connecting or requesting connection to the base station may include connecting or requesting connection via a particular frequency band of the multiple frequency bands. The UE may provide an indication of the particular frequency band to a core of the wireless network. The core may select a set of parameters for communications between the UE and the wireless network based on the indication of the particular frequency band. Additionally, or alternatively, the core may provide an indication of the particular frequency band to a device that provides a service to the UE via the wireless network, and the device may select parameters for the service based on the indication of the particular frequency band.

Systems and methods for real-time frequency band monitoring in a wireless network

A method may include receiving, by at least one network device and from a user device, a registration message including a service identifier and at least one of a network slice identifier or a network slice token. The method may also include determining, based on information included in the registration message, whether the user device is authorized to use a network slice associated with the service identifier. The method may further include setting up a data session to be serviced by the network slice, in response to determining that the user device is authorized to use the network slice.

Systems and methods for network-based slice access authorization

A network device may maintain a list of existing slice identifiers, associated with slices of a core network, that are in use in active UE sessions, and may receive a slice identifier associated with a slice of the core network and provided in a request to establish a session between a UE and the slice of the core network. The network device may determine whether the slice identifier matches an existing slice identifier included in the list, and may create a new network address, with an address of the network device and the slice identifier, based on the slice identifier failing to match an existing slice identifier included in the list. The network device may utilize the new network address to establish the session between the UE and the slice of the core network.

A system described herein may receive a request to establish a communication session between a core network and a User Equipment ('UE'), determine that the requested communication session is associated with one or more admission control options and receive, from the UE, a selection of a particular admission control option of the one or more admission control options. The one or more actions include rejecting the request to establish the communication session, or accepting the request to establish the communication session. A computer device may include a memory storing instructions and processor configured to execute the instructions to receive a session request from an application function (AF) device for a user equipment (UE) device and select a network slice based on the AF device. The computer device may be further configured to send a slice selection trigger to an Access and Mobility Function device for the UE device in response to selecting the network slice, wherein the slice selection trigger includes an instruction to UE device to request the selected network slice; receive a notification from a User Plane Function device associated with the selected slice, wherein the notification identifies a Packet Data Unit session between the UPF device and the UE device; and instruct the AF device to start a session with the UE device via the identified PDU session.

The network slice usage subscription service may allow a network device to obtain network slice usage information and event notifications. The event notification may indicate when an end device is using a network slice and when the end device is no longer the network slice. The network device may include an application function (AF) device. The network device may use the event notification to perform an operation relating to the network slice and/or the end device.

A system described herein may provide a technique for the predictive determination of regions, such as registration areas associated with a wireless network, with respect to a User Equipment ('UE') that registers with the wireless network. Such registration areas may be associated with different services, Quality of Service (“QoS”) parameters, network slices, or the like. When registering with the wireless network, the UE may receive an indication of a registration area that includes multiple tracking areas, which include a tracking area in which the UE is currently located and one or more other tracking areas in which the UE is likely to enter, as predicted based on one or more artificial intelligence/machine learning (“AI/ML”) models. The prediction may be based on the current location of the UE, UE attributes or parameters, and/or historical location information associated with the UE and/or other UEs.

The network device may identify a particular SPID of the SPIDs in the mapping table based on the particular QCI of the service, and may generate a flow request based on the particular SPID. The network device may cause the flow request to be provided to a radio access network (RAN) associated with the user device, to cause the RAN to select a RAN slice for provision of the service to the user device.

A device may include a processor configured to detect that an Internet Protocol Security (IPsec) tunnel from a user equipment (UE) device connected via a WiFi connection has become idle, based on the IPsec tunnel meeting an idleness criterion, and instruct the UE device to tear down the IPsec tunnel, in response to detecting that the IPsec tunnel from the UE device connected via the WiFi connection meets the idleness criterion. The device may be further configured to receive a mobile terminating call for the UE device; establish a new IPsec tunnel to the UE device via the WiFi connection, in response to receiving the mobile terminating call for the UE device; and forward the received mobile terminating call to the UE device via the established new IPsec tunnel.

The service may include the generation of multiple sets of allowed network slices based on a type of end device, current tracking area, and registration area information. The service may also translate allowed network slices, current tracking area and registration area information, and expose the translated information to an application function.

Systems and method are provided for a temporary network slice usage barring service within a core network. A network device in the core network receives a slice barring information message for an application function (AF). The slice barring information message includes a unique subscriber identifier associated with a user equipment (UE) device to be barred from a network slice and indicates a barring expiration time. The network device stores barring parameters based on the slice barring information message. The barring parameters include a slice identifier associated with the AF, the unique subscriber identifier, and the barring expiration time. The network device sends a barring instruction message to another network device associated with the network slice. The barring instruction message includes the unique subscriber identifier and the barring expiration time. The other network device enforces temporary barring of the UE device from the network slice based on the barring instruction message.

In some implementations, a network device may receive an identifier associated with an application server. The network device may associate the identifier with a service profile associated with a network slice based on a quality of service associated with the network slice. The network device may provide service profile information to a security device included in a core network to cause the security device to forward traffic transmitted by the application server toward a destination via the network slice. Embodiments described herein may provide for the return (e.g., reconnection) of a User Equipment ('UE') to a first radio access network ('RAN') to which the UE was connected, after the UE has been redirected to a second RAN based on the occurrence of an event. The event may include a voice call placed by or to the UE. The return of the UE to the first RAN may occur based on the occurrence of another event, such as the voice call being terminated.
