A recording medium playback device includes a recording medium accommodation unit, a carriage chassis having a pickup, a turntable and a pickup moving device, and a moving device. The moving device moves the carriage chassis from a standby position to a position between recording mediums accommodated in the recording medium accommodation unit to play back a recording medium. The recording medium loading device loads the recording medium inserted from outside into the recording medium accommodation unit. Also, when the carriage chassis is in the standby position, the pickup is situated on a vertical tangential plane tangent to an outer circumferential edge of the recording medium on the carriage chassis side at a point where the outer circumferential edge is intersected by a loading center line of the recording medium when the recording medium is completely loaded in the recording medium accommodation unit by the recording medium loading device.

Recording medium playback device

A vehicular communication apparatus including a helmet worn by a passenger of a vehicle, the helmet having a speaker, a microphone, and a helmet side infrared transmitter/receiver connected to the speaker and the microphone. The vehicle body side or helmet side is provided with a transmitter/receiver for carrying out infrared communication with the helmet side infrared transmitter/receiver. A wireless communication means is connected to the vehicle body side infrared ray transmitter/receiver and arranged with communication operating means separately from the wireless communication means at a location providing simple operation by an operator of the vehicle.

In order to provide a reliable surge protective component with a straightforward manufacturing process, first and second buried layers are diffused over the entire inside surfaces of a semiconductor substrate, and first and second base layers are then diffused over the entire inside surfaces of the first and second buried layers. The peripheries of the first and second emitter layers are then surrounded by first and second moats, the bottoms of which reach the first and second buried layers. A PN junction formed between the first and second base layers and first and second buried layers is then simply a planar junction.

An information recording-reproducing apparatus includes carrier rollers arranged in a carriage path having a width almost equal to a diameter of a large diameter disc, and a mechanical side switch PSW at one peripheral end of the carriage path. First and second optical detectors are arranged in the carriage path at an interval smaller than a diameter of the small diameter disc. The first optical detector and the side switch are arranged at an interval larger than the diameter of the small diameter disc, while the second optical detector and the side switch are arranged at an interval smaller than the diameter of the small diameter disc. The type of the disc as well as difference between the disc and an object other than the disc are determined based on the detection signals from the optical detectors and the side switch.

Carrying device for information recording medium

An apparatus for detecting the absence or the presence of the occurrence of the abnormal insertion that a plurality of disc bodies each of which should be inserted separately one by one are inserted consecutively, provided with: a passing detecting device for detecting the passing of the disc body, mounted on the passing route of the disc body, and a determining device for determining the occurrence of the abnormal insertion if the detecting device detects the passing again after the detecting device detected the passing once.

Apparatus and method for detecting abnormal insertion of disc body

A disc reproducing apparatus comprises a disc holder for receiving a plurality of discs; a disc reproducing section including a turntable for mounting a disc, an optical pickup for reproducing information recorded on the disc, a pickup moving mechanism for moving the optical pickup in the radial direction of the disc; a reproducing section pivoting means for pivoting the reproducing section between a reproducing position and a non-reproducing position; and a disc transporting means for transporting a disc inserted from the outside to the disc holder. In particular, the disc reproducing section includes a position detecting means for detecting a position of the optical pickup in the reproducing apparatus. Further, when the disc reproducing section is in its non-reproducing position, the position detecting means is adapted to detect the position of a disc which has been transported from the outside into the apparatus.

Disc reproducing apparatus

A disc storage is provided for storing a plurality of trays, each for holding a disc. The trays are stacked in the storage. A movable member is provided to be moved in the vertical direction. A disc player, a tray moving device are mounted on the movable member. The tray moving device is provided to be engaged with trays for moving the trays and for increasing a space between a desired tray and an adjacent disc for receiving disc player, and for decreasing the space during the reproduction of the desired disc.

Disc reproducing device

A disc storage stores a plurality of discs. A pair of driving rollers are provided for carrying a disc inserted from an opening to the disc storage. Each of the driving rollers is provided to be moved between a disc carrying position and a retracted position by a moving device.

Disc changer for a disc player

A disc reproducing apparatus comprises a disc holder for receiving a plurality of discs, a disc transporting device for transporting a disc inserted from outside into the disc holder, and a disc reproducing device for reproducing a disc selected from the plurality of discs received in the disc holder. The disc holder includes a plurality of trays each for mounting one disc, guide devices allowing the trays to move only in trays arranging direction, a fixed bottom plate for supporting the plurality of trays, a movable top plate movable in the tray arranging direction by virtue of the guide devices. Further, the movable top plate is urged towards the fixed bottom plate by virtue of an urging device.

A liquid level gauge for use on a vehicle indicates a liquid level in a start-up and in a running state in accordance with requirements designated by a user of the vehicle, the level being indicated with little or no time lag. Data detected in analog form by a fuel sensor is converted to digital signals by a sensor value reader. An indicator driver receives time signals from a timer and speed signals from a vehicle speed sensor and, in a suitably timed manner reflecting the vehicle speed, calculates fuel level data to be indicated based on the digital signals. The fuel level data thus calculated is indicated on a fuel level indicator. The fuel level data may be updated at intervals of one second if vehicle speed is less than 4 km/h and at intervals of 15 seconds if vehicle speed is at least 4 km/h. The indicator driver calculates the fuel level data using the digital signals unmodified or an average of digital signals obtained using a rapid averaging process, whereby fuel level is indicated with little or no time lag.

Vehicle liquid level gauge

A disc reproducing apparatus comprises a disc holder for receiving a plurality of discs; a disc reproducing section including a turntable for mounting a disc, an optical pickup for reproducing information recorded on the disc, a pickup moving mechanism for moving the optical pickup in the radial direction of the disc; a reproducing section pivoting means for pivoting the reproducing section between a reproducing position and a non-reproducing Position; and a disc transporting means for transporting a disc inserted from the outside to the disc holder. In particular, the disc reproducing section includes a position detecting means for detecting a position of the optical pickup in the reproducing apparatus. Further, when the disc reproducing section is in its non-reproducing position, the position detecting means is adapted to detect the position of a disc which has been transported from the outside into the apparatus.

A supporting mechanism is provided to be moved between a disc insertion opening and a disc storing device, and a driving roller is rotatably mounted on the supporting mechanism for carrying a disc inserted in the opening toward the disc storing device. The supporting mechanism is moved between the opening and the disc storing device, and the driving roller is driven for carrying the disc from the opening to the disc storing device.

Apparatus for reproducing an optical disc

A disc storage is provided for storing a plurality of trays, each for holding a disc. The trays are stacked in the storage. A movable member is provided to be moved in the vertical direction. A disc player, a tray moving device are mounted on the movable member. The tray moving device is provided to be engaged with trays for moving the trays and for forming spaces between trays for receiving disc player. A driving device is provided for vertically moving the movable member.

A plurality of trays, each for holding a disc, are arranged in a disc arranging direction in a disc storage. A movable base is provided to be rotated about a shaft and a disc player having a turntable, a disc clamper and a pickup, is mounted on the movable base. A driving device is provided for rotating the movable base between a retracted position and a disc reproducing position. A lock device is provided on the chassis for engaging with the movable base at the disc reproducing position to minimize external vibrations to the movable base during disc reproduction.

A disk reproducing apparatus with a plurality of disks arrayed and held therein selects a desired disk for reproduction from the arrayed disks. The disk reproducing apparatus includes an insertion slot which defines an insertion executable position, a disk holding device including a plurality of disks inserted through the insertion slot by arraying the disks in a direction perpendicular to main surfaces of the disks, the disk holding device being movable in a direction of arrangement of the disks, a disk reproducing device having upper and lower surfaces opposing in the direction of arrangement of the disks, the disk reproducing device being movable in the direction of arrangement of the disks, and reproducing a disk to be reproduced at a reproduction executable position at which the upper surface faces the disk to be reproduced. When a disk is to be inserted, the disc reproducing device is placed at a position where the lower surface is positioned near to the insertion executable position in the direction of arrangement of the disks. When a disk is to be reproduced, the disk reproducing device is placed at a position where the distance of the upper surface from the insertion executable position in the direction of arrangement of the disks is smaller than its distance at the time of insertion of a disk. Thereby the reduction in size of the apparatus as a whole and a smooth execution of the reproduction operation are attained.
