A valve drive device which can prevent a locknut fixing a stem nut to a drive sleeve from getting loosened. The valve drive device comprises: the stem nut for screwing a valve stem thereinto; the drive sleeve engaging with a male spline formed on a peripheral outer surface of said stem nut, said drive sleeve including a worm gear on a peripheral outer surface thereof; a worm in meshing engagement with said worm gear; and a housing that supports said drive sleeve by bearings. The valve drive device further comprises: a stem nut fastening member having a first male screw that engages with a female screw provided on a peripheral inner surface of said drive sleeve; and a locknut that engages with a second male screw provided on a reduced diameter portion of said stem nut fastening member, said second male screw having a reverse screw thread relative to said first male screw, so that no slack may arise between said stem nut fastening member and said drive sleeve.

A sign of abnormality of a valve apparatus during its operation is grasped, an abnormal position and a portion requiring repair are specified, a range of inspection of an electric valve is limited and the degree of the sign of abnormality is judged without touching at all the valve apparatus. A fluid path opening/closing valve comprises a plate-like valve plug and a rack which is fixed to a piston of an emergency shut-down air cylinder. The rack meshes with a pinion which rotates by a reversible motor with a clutch. If a seismic detecting valve detects earthquake which has over predetermined seismic intensity and opens, compressed air is sent from an air tank via the opened seismic detecting valve to a switching cylinder which disconnects the clutch. In a swimming pool in which water is circulated by a pump, a schoolboy child is liable to be absorbed into a discharge port, which is dangerous. A sensor which has a load cell is provided at the back of a water-permeable cover in the discharge port. If a human body of the child is absorbed into the discharge port and contacted with the cover, the load cell is pressed by the water-permeable cover to transmit a signal to a control circuit in which it is determined whether or not pressure variation applied to the sensor is normal or abnormal. If abnormality is determined therein, an alarm is sounded to inform a watcher of the accident and the pump is stopped to release the child from the discharge port.

A rewritable thermosensitive recording medium having a recording layer, the transparency of which reversibly changes depending on the temperature thereof. Further, the recording layer contains a matrix material and an organic low-molecular-weight material dispersed in the matrix material as main components thereof. Moreover, an alicyclic dicarboxylic acid compound is added to the organic low-molecular-weight material dispersed in the matrix material. Furthermore, by adding the alicyclic dicarboxylic acid compound to the organic low-molecular-weight material, the eutectic point of the organic low-molecular-weight material and the alicyclic dicarboxylic acid compound becomes higher than the melting point of the organic low-molecular-weight material. Additionally, in spite of the fact that the amount of the alicyclic dicarboxylic acid compound to be added to the organic low-molecular-weight material is small, the difference between the eutectic point of the organic low-molecular-weight material and the alicyclic dicarboxylic acid compound and the melting point of the organic low-molecular-weight material is much larger than those obtained in cases of conventional recording materials.
