A process for producing a coated aromatic polycarbonate formed article having improved surface properties which comprises forming a primer layer containing a specific thermoplastic acrylic copolymer and an ultraviolet light absorbent on an aromatic polycarbonate formed article, and forming a protective topcoat comprising a thermoset organopolysiloxane on said primed polycarbonate article is disclosed.
