When one piston A and B moves to the forward edge by the pressured fluid supplied to the head side pressured chamber A and B, two communicating paths A and B communicates the head side pressured chamber A and B with the rod side pressured chamber B and A of other piston B and A. In a rod holding unit plate, the rod holding unit plate is provided such that one engaging unit A and B of the rod holding unit plate is in sliding contact with the side surface of this piston rod A and B to regulate the oscillation during one piston rod A and B is making forward or is setting back. At the same time, the rod holding unit plate is provided such that other engaging unit B and A of the rod holding unit plate is engaged in the hollow of other piston rod B and A located at the forward edge to engage the returning operation of the piston rod.

Escapement cylinder

A two-drive-system fluid pressure chuck including two sets of jaw members capable of chucking a workpiece from two directions X and Y. The chuck includes two cylinder apparatuses, a first rod, a second rod, and a cam member. The first rod being slidably disposed within the inside of the second rod. The cam member is formed at the tip of each rod and is used to convert the reciprocal operation of each rod into the opening and closing operations of the jaw members. A notch is formed in the side of the second rod, and the cam member of the first rod protrudes out from the second rod through this notch to connect to the jaw member.

Two drive-system fluid pressure chuck

Pinching of the fingers of an air chuck is prevented during opening or closing in order to allow them to open or close smoothly and to miniaturize the air chuck. In a linear guide air chuck having a rod that is operated by an air cylinder mechanism; a pair of fingers is provided that can be opened and closed to grip a workpiece; a guide mechanism moves the fingers linearly to open or close them; and a pair of levers convert operation of the rod into the opening and closing operation of both fingers the lever and finger being coupled together by fitting a spherical engagement element formed on the lever so, in a circular engagement hole cut in the top surface of the finger, at a position at which the acting force of the lever can be transmitted to the finger at nearly the same height as that of the guide mechanism.

Linear guide air chuck

In a slide actuator, a central guide rail having V-shaped grooves defined therein and opened at 90 degree angles, is mounted on a cylinder body. A slide table is brought into engagement with the guide rail. Guide members having V-shaped grooves defined therein are provided inside the slide table so that they are opposed to the grooves defined in the guide rail. Cylindrical roller bearings are alternately fitted at inclinations of 90.degree. in their corresponding channels defined by the opposed grooves. Thus, when the roller bearings are rolled, the slide table is displaced with higher accuracy and a load supported by the slide table is transmitted to the guide rail from the roller bearings.

Slide actuator

A tool fastening apparatus for industrial robots comprises a coupling unit attached to the arm of a robot and a coupling unit attached to a tool to be used with the robot. When the two coupling units are joined together, their relative position can be easily and accurately fixed by means of positioning couplings comprising ball rings carrying a set of annularly arranged balls slightly sticking out from the plane of contact between the two coupling units. Accurate positioning is achieved by bringing the balls on the two ball rings into engagement, which, in turn, is achieved by fitting each ball on one ball ring into between two adjoining balls on the other ball ring.

Tool fastening apparatus for industrial robots

In this parallel gripper suitable for gripping a work for a robot or the like, in which a pair of fingers are opened and closed by keeping the parallel condition between them by the transmission of the driving force of a fluid pressure actuator to the fingers by means of a power transmission mechanism, use is made of a pair of pistons, that are relatively slidable in a single cylinder bore under the action of fluid pressure, as the fluid pressure actuator, thereby obtaining substantially twice as large gripping force as in the case of empolying a single piston. Further, simplification in constitution and reduction in weight of the parallel gripper are achieved by constructing the gripper so as to supply a pressurized fluid to the pressure chamber formed between the pair of pistons in the cylinder bore, and by transmitting the driving force of both pistons that are driven in the mutually opposite directions to the fingers by means of a simple power transmission mechanism which employs levers as its principal components.
