A color cathode-ray tube where an electron beam selection mask with an aperture grille type beam selection electrode of a thin metal plate attached to a frame is supported by engagement of stud pins with support springs and is thereby positioned stably opposite to a color luminescent screen formed on the inner surface of a panel. A projection is formed on either the top of each stud pin or the bottom of each cap opposed thereto, while a recess is formed in the other for engagement with the projection in the direction orthogonal to the action of the support spring. The mutual contact portions of such projection and recess are coated with solid lubricant films so that the beam selection mask can be reset at its proper position despite any external impact applied thereto. The elasticity constant of the frame is selectively set at a desired value with additional disposition of reinforcing plates having the same thermal expansion coefficient as that of the frame, thereby averting vibration of the beam selection mask. And rotary mechanisms are formed relative to the support springs and are rotated in accordance with thermal expansion of the frame, so that the frame is shifted toward the panel surface having a color luminescent screen thereon, whereby mislanding of the electron beam due to temperature rise in the beam selection mask can be prevented.

A security monitor system is designed to transmit video signals from a plurality of video information sources via a common transmission line. Video information from respective video information sources is scanned at given timings to check the monitoring areas in a given order. An automatic recognition may be facilitated in the security monitor system for detecting substantial and noticable movement within a picture derived from the video information from each of the video signal sources. Therefore, the security monitor system is inexpensive and satisfactory for monitoring a plurality of monitoring areas and is satisfactory for recording video information of a variety of monitoring areas, when movement in the picture of one of the monitoring areas is detected, by means of a video tape recorder or other appropriate recording means.

A surveillance system having self-test functions having an image pick-up sensor, an image processing unit connected to the image pick-up sensor for detecting a scene change of video signals obtained from the image pick-up sensor, an alarm generator connected to the image processing unit for generating alarm signals based on the detection of the scene change, and a self-tester including noise signals to be superimposed on the video signals to be supplied to the image processing unit as a quasi-scene change information.

Surveillance system

A video monitoring system applicable to a security system is provided with a television camera, one or more television monitors, one or more AC adaptors equal in number to the television monitors, and one or more adaptors equal in number to the television monitors. Each adaptor connects the television camera to the associated television monitor via a prior stage component of the monitoring system and to a next stage component. At least one of the adaptors has functions for transmitting DC power supply of the associated AC adaptor to the associated television monitor, for transmitting DC power supply to the prior stage component via the associated television monitor, for transmitting and amplifying an audio signal of the television camera to the associated television monitor and to the next stage component, for transmitting and amplifying a video signal of the television camera to the next stage component upon receipt of DC power supply from the next stage component, and for transmitting the video signal from the prior stage component to the associated television monitor.

Adaptor for a video monitoring system

A high-voltage stabilizer circuit cooperates with the flyback transformer in a cathode ray tube display system to prevent level variations in the video signal from producing corresponding variations in the high-voltage output from the flyback transformer to the cathode ray tube, such high-voltage variations being undesirable because they result in changes in the electron beam position on the phosphor screen that produce shifts in the resultant picture. The current flowing through the video circuit is controlled inversely in relation to variations in the cathode current of the cathode ray tube so that the high-voltage output from the flyback transformer remains constant. This high-voltage stabilizer involves specific choices of circuit element values and is particularly suitable for so-called flat-tube television receivers.

High voltage generator for television apparatus

A cathode ray tube comprises an envelope, an electron beam source positioned at one end of the envelope, a target positioned at another end of the envelope, and an electrostatic lens means positioned between the electron beam source and the target. The lens means has a first cylindrical electrode and a second cylindrical electrode positioned along the electron beam path to focus the electron beam. The second cylindrical electrode is divided into four patterned electrodes, and each of the deflection electrodes has a lead which is formed across the first cylindrical electrode but is isolated therefrom. The portion of the leads is positioned to cause a predeflection to the electron beam.

Cathode ray tube

Means for aligning the electron beam of an electron beam in a cathode ray tube so as to adjust the alignment and which includes a rear bobbin portion surrounding the cathode ray tube and which is mounted at least one cylindrical shaped magnet that is magnetized in the direction of a diameter of the cylinder and which can be rotated so as to correct for misalignment in the tube. In one embodiment, two rotatable magnets mounted at right angles relative to each other are utilized and in the second embodiment a single magnet can be utilized and in which the supporting bobbin in which the magnet is mounted can be rotated by 180.degree. is provided.

Alignment apparatus for electron beam tube

In an electron-optical system of the mixed field type in which magnetic and electric fields are respectively operative to project a focused image of an object of the system upon a target structure and to simultaneously scan such image across the target structure, beam landing errors are eliminated by dimensioning and locating the solenoid for generating the magnetic field and the electrostatic yoke for generating the electric field so that the landing errors due to non-uniformity of the electric field, for example, by reason of field-free regions at the opposite ends thereof, are substantially cancelled by landing errors due to non-uniformity of the magnetic field, for example, as constituted by flare field regions at the opposite ends of the magnetic field.
