A concentration measurement apparatus measures a temporal relative change amount (&#x394;cHb, &#x394;OHb) of either or both of total hemoglobin concentration and oxygenated hemoglobin concentration in the head that vary due to repetition of chest compression, and includes a light incidence section making measurement light incident on the head, a light detection section detecting the measurement light propagated through the interior of the head and generating a detection signal in accordance with the intensity of the measurement light, and a CPU determining, based on the detection signal, the relative change amount (&#x394;cHb, &#x394;OHb) and performing a filtering process of removing frequency components less than a predetermined frequency from frequency components contained in the relative change amount (&#x394;cHb, &#x394;OHb).

Concentration-measurement device and concentration-measurement method

A concentration measurement apparatus includes a probe, having a light incidence section making measurement light incident on the head and a light detection section detecting the measurement light that has propagated through the interior of the head, and a CPU determining temporal relative change amounts of oxygenated hemoglobin concentration and deoxygenated hemoglobin concentration and determining a correlation coefficient of the relative change amounts and a polarity of a slope of a regression line.

Biochemical components and changes in the components are measured by directing light of several wavelengths into a body at one location, sensing light at the wavelengths emerging from the body at a plurality of distances from the one location, and ascertaining biochemical component characteristics in the body as a function of variations, with respect to distance, of the logarithm of the ratio of the light sensed to the light directed into the body. The variations with respect to distance are in the form of the derivative and square of the derivatives of the logarithm.

Perform measurement of blood flow using physiological salt solution, which is harmless to living objects, as a tracer. The head portion (4) of a subject is alternately irradiated with laser light 1, and laser light 2. The light exiting from the head portion (4) is detected and converted to an electric signal. By performing a first calculation on this electric signal, a CPU (1) outputs a signal representing the change in concentration of hemoglobin in the head (4). Further, a second calculation process is performed on the electric signal which represents changes in concentration of hemoglobin generated by injection of the physiological salt solution. At least one of the blood flow or the absolute concentration of oxyhemoglobin and deoxyhemoglobin is displayed. Because a material safe to living objects is used as the tracer, measurement of the blood flow can be safely and repeatedly performed.

An examination apparatus for measuring the oxygenation in body organs by the near infrared light transmission spectrophotometry. The invention relates to an improvement of an illumination-side fixture and a detection-side fixture. In order to hold optical fibers for introducing infrared light in their natural conditions, the fixtures are equipped with respective prisms for changing light paths by prescribed angles. Also, the fixtures are equipped with respective light-emitting diodes for indicating if the examination apparatus is in its operating condition.

A device for analyzing fluorescent light signals consists of memory means for storing as a reference spectrum a spectrum obtained under predetermined conditions, and extraction means for extracting a predetermined component spectrum based on the results of a conversion of the reference spectrum using a specific wavelength of a measured spectrum obtained during actual measurement and a specific wavelength of the reference spectrum. The arrangement of the invention allows the spectrum of a specific component to be extracted accurately from measured spectra.

Apparatus for obtaining information on the interior of an object

An examination apparatus which measures the oxygenation in objects with near infrared light transmission spectrophotometry and that automatically adjusts a transmission light quantity to a magnitude suitable for detection by a photomultiplier tube. The examination apparatus comprises a ring-like ND filter whose transmission factor varies along its circumference, a filter driver for automatically setting a transmission factor of a filter, and a light source control device for automatically controlling output powers of light sources.
