The present invention provides a ferritic stainless steel sheet having excellent formability and excellent surface quality after forming. In specific means, the steel sheet contains, by mass %, 0.02 to 0.06% of C, 1.0% or less of Si, 1.0% or less of Mn, 0.05% or less of P, 0.01% or less of S, 0.005% or less of Al, 0.005% or less of Ti, 11 to 30% of Cr, 0.7% or less of Ni, the balance composed of Fe, and inevitable impurities, wherein N is contained to satisfy the relation to the C content represented by 0.06&#x2266;(C+N)&#x2266;0.12, and 1&#x2266;N/C, and V is contained to satisfy the relation to the N content represented by 1.5&#xd7;10&#x2266;(V&#xd7;N)&#x2266;1.5&#xd7;10(wherein C, N and V: the contents (mass %) of the elements).

A martensitic stainless steel sheet which is hard to be softened by tempering caused by heating during the use of a disk brake, can maintain the predetermined hardness, and has excellent punching workability, bending workability before quenching, and a particularly small shear drop, and in which a predetermined hardness after quenching is constantly achieved, in a low carbon martensitic stainless steel sheet used only after quenching. Specifically, the sheet contains, on the basis of mass percent, 0.030% to 0.100% C; 0.50% or less of Si; 1.00% to 2.50% Mn; more than 10.00% to 15.00% Cr; at least one selected from the group consisting of 0.01% to 0.50% Ti, 0.01% to 0.50% V, 0.01% to 1.00% Nb, and 0.01% to 1.00% Zr; N in an amount defined by the following expression, N: 0.005% to (Ti+V)&#xd7;14/50+(Nb+Zr)&#xd7;14/90; and the balance being Fe and incidental impurities.

Low carbon martensitic stainless steel and method for production thereof

An alloyed hot-dip galvanized steel sheet is obtained by forming a hot-dip galvanized layer on the surface of the steel sheet and then alloying the steel sheet. The steel sheet exhibits a potential of &minus;850 mV or less when it is immersed in a zinc sulfate-sodium chloride electrolyte. Alternatively, when it is electrolyzed according to constant potential electrolysis process in a zinc sulfate-sodium chloride electrolyte at a potential in a range from &minus;940 mV to &minus;920 mV, the quantity of electricity consumed is less than or equal to 0.5 C/cm . The steel sheet exhibits excellent processability and particularly excellent sliding property.

A ferritic stainless steel plate of excellent ridging resistance and formability, as well as a manufacturing method thereof are proposed. Specifically, the rolling is conducted at a rolling reduction of 30% or more in at least 1 pass and at a temperature difference between the center of the plate thickness and the surface of 200&deg; C. or lower in a pass for the maximum rolling reduction to cause the area ratio of a &lcub;111&rcub; orientation colony to be present by 30% or more in the regions of &frac18; to &frac38; and &frac58; to &frac78; of the plate thickness. The &lcub;111&rcub; orientation colony is an assembly of adjacent crystals in which the angle of <111> orientation vector for each of the crystals relative to the direction vector vertical to the rolling surface is within 15&deg;.

Method of manufacturing a ferritic stainless steel plate

A ferritic stainless steel sheet which has not only superior high-temperature fatigue characteristics, but also superior workability at room temperatures. The steel sheet contains, by weight percent, C: not more than 0.02%, Si: 0.2 to 1.0%, Mn: not more than 1.5%, Cr: 11.0 to 20.0%, Ni: 0.05 to 2.0%, Mo: 1.0 to 2.0%, Al: not more than 1.0%, Nb: 0.2 to 0.8%, and N: not more than 0.02%, balance essentially Fe, and an aspect ratio (d /d ) of grain size in planes at &frac14; and &frac34; sheet thickness, seen a direction normal to a sheet surface, in the range of 1.03 to 1.35. The steel sheet has a thickness greater than 0.3 mm but not greater than 2.5 mm, and a yield strength Y.S.&lE;360 MPa and an r-value&gE;1.3 at 30&deg; C., and wherein after maintaining the steel sheet at 900&deg; C. for one hour, the Y.S.&gE;18.0 MPa.

Ferritic stainless steel sheet having superior workability at room temperatures and mechanical characteristics at high temperatures

Producing a ferritic Cr-containing steel sheet having excellent ductility, formability, and anti-ridging properties, and exhibiting excellent surface quality after forming, wherein a ferritic Cr-containing steel sheet contains, by mass %, about 0.001 to 0.12% of C, about 0.001 to 0.12% of N, and about 9 to 32% of Cr, and has a crystal grain structure in which in a section of a hot-rolled annealed steel sheet in the thickness direction parallel to the rolling direction, an elongation index of crystal grains is 5 or less at any position, and in a section of a cold-rolled annealed steel sheet in the thickness direction parallel to the rolling direction, any colony of coarse grains oriented in the rolling direction has an aspect ratio of 5 or less. The production method includes hot rolling, pre-rolling by cold or warm rolling with a rolling reduction of about 2 to 15%, hot-rolled sheet annealing, cold rolling, and finish annealing; preferably the FDT of hot rolling is 850&deg; C., and 0.0002 to 0.0030% of B is added.

Ferritic Cr-containing steel sheet having excellent ductility, formability, and anti-ridging properties

The present invention provides a ferritic stainless steel sheet having excellent formability and excellent surface quality after forming. In specific means, the steel sheet contains, by mass %, 0.02 to 0.06% of C, 1.0% or less of Si, 1.0% or less of Mn, 0.05% or less of P, 0.01% or less of S, 0.005% or less of Al, 0.005% or less of Ti, 11 to 30% of Cr, 0.7% or less of Ni, the balance composed of Fe, and inevitable impurities, wherein N is contained to satisfy the relation to the C content represented by 0.06&lE;(C&plus;N)&lE;0.12, and 1&lE;N/C, and V is contained to satisfy the relation to the N content represented by 1.5&times;10 &lE;(V&times;N)&lE;1.5&times;10 (wherein C, N and V: the contents (mass %) of the elements).

Ferritic stainless steel comprising all three of Co, V, and B, having a Co content of about 0.01 mass % to about 0.3 mass %, a V content of about 0.01 mass % to about 0.3 mass %, and a B content of about 0.0002 mass % to about 0.0050 mass %, and having superior secondary working embrittleness resistance and superior high temperature fatigue characteristics.

The present invention provides a stainless steel being excellent in workability, corrosion resistance and antibacterial property. To be more specific, a stainless steel containing 10 wt % or more of Cr is rendered to contain 0.0001-1 wt % of Ag, or further one or more members selected from Sn: 0.0002-0.02 wt %, Zn: 0.0002-0.02 wt %, Pt: 0.0002-0.01 wt %, and, in addition, is rendered to dispersedly contain a total of 0.001 % or more in an area percentage of one or more members of a silver particle, a silver oxide and a silver sulphide each having a mean grain diameter of 500 &mgr;m or less. To disperse the silver particle, silver oxide and silver sulphide uniformly, the casting rate of continuous casting is preferably controlled to range from 0.8 to 1.6 m/min.

Stainless steel having excellent antibacterial property and method for producing the same

The present invention provides a BA-finished stainless steel product having superior antibacterial properties and corrosion resistance and a method for producing the same. Specifically, after a stainless steel product is subjected to BA treatment, the stainless steel product is immersed in a solution containing Ag ions having a concentration of 0.0001 to 1.0 mol/l so that a BA film contains, in area percentage, 0.0002 to 0.05% of Ag particles and Ag compounds, and further, stainless steel product contains 0.001 to 0.10% by weight of Ag and optionally further contains 0.001 to 0.30% by weight of V.

Stainless steel material with excellent antibacterial property and process for producing the same

The present invention provides a stainless steel having superior corrosion resistance, antibacterial properties, and durability, the antibacterial properties being maintained after surface treatments commonly performed including, for example, polishing. In particular, the stainless steel contains not less than 10 percent by weight of chromium, 0.001 to 0.30 percent by weight of silver, or further contains 0.001 to 1.0 percent by weight of vanadium. In addition, not less than 0.0005 weight percent of a silver oxide, the amount thereof being not more than 1.1 times that of the silver, is dispersed in the stainless steel. In order to homogeneously disperse the silver oxide in the stainless steel, when continuous casting of molten steel is performed, the casting rate for the continuous casting is preferably 0.8 to 1.6 m/min. A method for manufacturing the stainless steel is also disclosed.
