An electrochemical device positive electrode with a lead member includes a positive electrode and a lead member attached to the positive electrode. The positive electrode includes a positive current collector, a carbon layer, and an active layer. The carbon layer is disposed on a surface of the positive current collector, and contains a conductive carbon material. The active layer is supported by the positive current collector via the carbon layer disposed between the active layer and the positive current collector, and contains a conductive polymer. The lead member is in contact with the carbon layer.

A method for manufacturing a positive electrode for a power storage device includes the steps of: preparing a current collector that includes a first region and a second region on a surface of the current collector, the first region having a carbon layer formed on the surface, the second region having the surface exposed; and forming a conductive polymer layer selectively on a surface of the carbon layer by immersing the current collector in an electrolytic solution containing a raw material monomer and then conducting electrolytic polymerization of the raw material monomer.

In an electric storage device, a terminal plate includes an element-connecting part electrically connected to a first electrode at a first end of an electric storage element, and an external terminal connected to this element-connecting part. A sealing member is on the element-connecting part, and includes a hole where the external terminal is inserted. The sealing member and the external terminal seal an opening of an outer jacket. The external terminal includes a tapered part on its outer periphery at a tip, and is partially exposed from the sealing member. The tapered part includes a first end and a second end farther away from the element-connecting part than the first end. An edge of a side wall at the opening of the outer jacket is between the first and second ends of the tapered part in a first direction extending from the bottom to the opening of the outer jacket.

An electrochemical capacitor includes electrolytic solution, a capacitor element, and a housing. The electrolytic solution contains cations, anions, solvent formed of materials other than lactones, and a lactone component. The capacitor element includes a negative electrode, a positive electrode, and a separator. The negative electrode includes an electrode layer capable of storing the cations, and the positive electrode includes a polarizable electrode layer and confronts the negative electrode. The separator is disposed between the negative and positive electrodes, and they are layered or wound together. The capacitor element is impregnated with the electrolytic solution. The housing accommodates the capacitor element and the electrolytic solution that contains the lactone component in a quantity ranging from 0.001 wt % to 5 wt % (inclusive) relative to the solvent.

A negative electrode of an electrochemical capacitor includes an electrode layer using a material capable of reversibly absorbing and releasing a lithium ion. A method for pretreating the negative electrode includes forming a lithium layer on a substrate by a gas phase method or a liquid phase method, and transferring the lithium layer onto a surface of the electrode layer of the negative electrode.
