An optical connector system includes: an optical path-changing device including a fiber-holding part that holds a single-mode optical fiber along a first direction, and a reflection surface that reflects an optical signal; and a relay device on a substrate. The substrate includes a grating coupler for inputting/outputting an optical signal in a second direction that is inclined with respect to a direction perpendicular to a surface of the substrate. The optical path-changing device and the relay device each have an input/output surface to/from which the optical signal is inputted/outputted. A first convex lens is disposed on the input/output surface of the optical path-changing device. A second convex lens is disposed on the input/output surface of the relay device.

Semiconductor laser module and method of manufacturing the same

Provided is an optical processing device including: a beam emission portion which comprises a plurality of optical fibers; a plurality of collimating lenses to which a beam emitted from the optical fibers are incident; a dispersion element which disperses the beam emitted from one optical fiber among the plurality of optical fibers; and an optical path conversion optical system which converts an optical path of the beam passing through the dispersion element and allows the beam to be incident to another optical fiber among the plurality of optical fibers, wherein the plurality of collimating lenses is installed in series in the optical path direction of the beam emitted from the optical fiber, and wherein a distance between at least two collimating lenses are adjustable in the optical path direction.

Optical processing device

A method and apparatus is provided for processing an optical beam. The method includes spatially dispersing an optical beam received from an optical port into a plurality of wavelength components. The wavelength components are focused and at least one of the components is selectively directed to one of the optical ports by reflecting the focused wavelength component at least twice from a DMD before being directed to a selected one of the optical ports. A resolution of the focused wavelength component is optimized when it is reflected from the DMD a first or second time at the expense of the other time when it is reflected.

Provided is an optical processing device including: a beam emission portion which includes a plurality of optical fibers; a dispersion element which disperses a beam emitted from one optical fiber of the plurality of optical fibers; a condenser lens which concentrates the beam passing through the dispersion element; and an optical path conversion optical system which converts an optical path of the beam passing through the condenser lens so that the beam is incident to one of the other optical fibers of the plurality of optical fibers. An optical axis of the condenser lens is inclined with respect to an optical axis direction from the beam emission portion to the optical path conversion optical system. The inclination angle is set so that a maximum difference in focal depth of a plurality of beams having different wavelengths obtained by the dispersion element becomes smaller.

An optical module according to the present invention has a stem having an interconnection terminal; an optical device positioned on the stem and electrically connected to the interconnection terminal; a cap fixed onto the stem so as to enclose the optical device within the cap; and a lens for optically coupling the optical device with an optical member positioned outside the cap. As a feature of this optical module, the cap is manufactured with a high degree of precision so that the height of the cap with respect to the stem can be used as a positional reference in the direction of the optical axis of the optical system, which consists of the optical device, the lens, and the optical member extending outside the cap. In addition, the shape of the side wall of the cap is designed so that it can function as a reference for maintaining the coaxiality between the photo detector and the lens. The stem is fixed to the cap at the proper position for a high precision.
