A ribbon cassette includes a case, an ink ribbon, a first spool, a second spool, a rotating member, a clutch spring, and an engaging part. The ink ribbon has one end portion wound over the first spool and another end portion connected to the second spool. The rotating member is engaged with a first inner surface of the first spool. The clutch spring includes a coil like annular part attached to the rotating member, and an extension part extending from the annular part. The engaging part is positioned on a locus of rotation of the extension part. The first spool has a protrusion provided at a second inner surface of the first spool. The case-hole is in communication with an interior of the first spool, and has a portion overlapped with an entire circular region surrounded by a path of rotation of the tip end of the protrusion.

A ribbon cassette includes: a cassette case having first and second holes; an ink ribbon; first and second spools; an engaging part; and a spring member. The ink ribbon has one end wound on the first spool, and another end connected to a first end portion of the second spool. The spring member is wound around a second portion of the second spool. The spring member includes: a winding part wound around the second portion; and an extension part extending from the winding part and engaged with the engaging part. The winding part is wound in a direction opposite to a take-up direction of the second spool. A second draw-out load applied to the ink ribbon being pulled from the second spool through the second hole is smaller than a first draw-out load applied to the ink ribbon being pulled from the first spool through the first hole.

A tape cassette that includes a housing, a wound tape, an arm portion, and a first surface. The housing has a top surface, a bottom surface, and a front surface. The front surface extends from the bottom surface toward the top surface in a first direction. The arm portion is defined by a section of the front surface and a first wall. An opening extends through the housing in the first direction. The opening is defined by the first wall, a second wall, and a connection portion. The first surface is provided in the connection portion. The first surface is disposed between the top surface and the bottom surface in the first direction. The housing has a first indentation extending from the bottom surface to the first surface.

A tape cassette that includes a housing having a top surface, a bottom surface and a front surface, a wound tape mounted within the housing, a printer head holder insertion portion that is a space extending through the housing in a vertical direction and having an oblong rectangular shape in a plan view, the oblong rectangular shape extending parallel to the front surface, and a printer first support receiving portion connected to a first end of the printer head holder insertion portion and facing the printer head holder insertion portion in a first direction that is parallel to the front surface, the first end being positioned on an upstream side of the printer head holder insertion portion in a feed direction of the tape, the printer first support receiving portion being a first indentation extending from the bottom surface toward the top surface.

A printer includes a feeding portion, a guide portion, and a processor. The processor determines whether a roll sheet in the printer is an inward facing roll sheet or an outward facing roll sheet. When the roll sheet is the inward facing roll sheet, the processor controls the feeding portion to move the downstream-side end portion of the print medium from the cutting position to an upstream side in the feed direction than the upstream end portion before the printing. And the processor controls the printing portion to start printing. When the roll sheet is the outward facing roll sheet, the processor controls the printing portion to start printing in a state in which a downstream-side end portion of the print medium in the feed direction is positioned further to a downstream side in the feed direction than an upstream-side end portion of the guide portion in the feed direction.

The disclosure discloses a printer performing printing processing that forms desired print on a print-receiving medium. The printer includes a cartridge holder, a drive device, a thermal head, an energization device, an attribute detecting device, a first determination portion, and a processing portion. The cartridge holder removably mounts a cartridge. The drive device drives a feeding roller to feed the print-receiving medium. The thermal head performs printing on the print-receiving medium fed. The energization device controls energization of the thermal head. The attribute detecting device detects an attribute of the print-receiving medium. The first determination portion determines whether or not a tube cartridge capable of supplying a tubular print-receiving medium is mounted. The processing portion performs predetermined processing that is for suppressing expansion of the tubular print-receiving medium and is triggered by the determination that the tube cartridge has been mounted by the first determination portion.

A tape printer that includes a tape cassette having a housing, a tape, a head holder insertion portion, and a first support receiving portion that is a first indentation extending from the bottom surface in a direction toward the top surface, a cassette housing portion in which the tape cassette is inserted or removed, a head holder extending from the cassette housing portion in a direction of insertion and removal of the tape cassette with respect to the cassette housing portion and supporting a printhead, the head holder being adapted to be inserted in the head holder insertion portion, and a first supporting portion provided on the head holder to support a ceiling wall portion of the first indentation as the first support receiving portion, the first supporting portion being provided on an upstream side of the printhead in a feed direction of the tape.

Tape printer

A tape printing apparatus compares a back-side background region of print data to be previously printed and a front-side background region of print data to be subsequently printed upon receipt of plural print data including background. If they are different, the tape printing apparatus creates a front-side color mixture tolerance region and a back-side color mixture tolerance region based on the front-side background region and the back-side background region, respectively, so that the front-side color mixture tolerance region and the back-side color mixture tolerance region are arranged continuously. The apparatus sets cut positions at a front edge border and a back edge border of each print data and cut the tape off at those portions while carrying out full-color print on the tape based on respective print data.

Tape printing apparatus

A projection is provided in a roller holder. Accordingly, in a state wherein the roller holder is pressed against a supporting board to make a platen roller come in close contact with a thermal head, a cassette presses the roller holder through the projection in a process of loading the cassette inside a cassette loading portion. As a result, the roller holder moves in a biasing direction (direction from inward to outward of the cassette loading portion), causing the roller holder to move away from the supporting board. Thus, even if a state is maintained wherein the platen roller adhered to the thermal head and the roller holder is kept pressed against the supporting board, the roller holder can be separated from the supporting board when the cassette is loaded up.

It is intended to provide a printer which can prevent dust from entering and adhering to a printing medium, thereby avoiding entry of the dust to or near a print head, and can improve print quality. A first cover covers a first paper projection port through which paper as the printing medium is projected when the paper is inside a housing. This can prevent the entry of the dust through the first paper projection port to the housing. Furthermore, the first cover swings about a first engagement portion by pressure of a front end of the paper to cover the paper when the paper is projected through the first paper projection port in the forward feeding motion by the feeding device such as a paper feeding roller.

A packaging container includes a first clamshell half, a second clamshell half, a connecting portion that connects an edge of the first clamshell with an edge of the second clamshell half, a sealed portion that fastens the first clamshell and the second clamshell to each other, the sealed portion being located at the edge of the packaging container on a side opposite to the connecting portion, and a severed portion that is provided in at least one of the first clamshell and the second clamshell between the sealed portion and a packaged object, which is accommodated in a room created between the first clamshell and the second clamshell when the clamshell halves are fitted to each other, and that is severed off for opening the packaging container.
