This heterophasic propylene polymerization material comprises a propylene copolymer (I), an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer (II-1), and an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer (II-2), wherein the contained amount of a monomeric unit derived from an olefin other than propylene in the propylene copolymer (I) is not less than 0.05 wt % but less than 10 wt %, the limiting viscosity [&#x3b7;]of the propylene copolymer (I) is less than 1.50 dL/g, the contained amount of a monomeric unit derived from ethylene in the ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer (II-2) is 10-30 wt %, and the limiting viscosity of the ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer (II-2) is higher than that of the ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer (II-1).

Heterophasic propylene polymerization material

A propylene-based resin composition containing components (A), (B), and (C) is provided. The content of (A) is 50 to 89 parts by weight, the content of (B) is 11 to 50 parts by weight, and the content of (C) is 0.05 to 1 part by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the total of (A) and (B). Component (A) is a propylene-based polymer, component (B) is a filler, and component (C) is a bis(3,4-dialkylbenzylidene)sorbitol represented by the formula (1)  In formula (1), Rand Reach independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms. It is possible to produce a molded article which has high rigidity and in which the linear expansion coefficients in the MD and the TD are small from the composition.

Propylene-based resin composition and injection-molded object thereof

A polypropylene-based resin composition capable of affording a molded article superior in tensile elongation at break includes a polypropylene resin (A), an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer (B) having a density of 0.865 to 0.890 g/cm, an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer (C) having a density of 0.855 to 0.859 g/cm, and an inorganic filler (D), wherein the content of the polypropylene resin (A) is 49 to 76% by weight, the content of the inorganic filler (D) is 9 to 22% by weight, the sum total of the contents of the ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer (B) and the ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer (C) is 15 to 29% by weight. The sum total of the contents of (A), (B), (C), and (D) is taken as 100% by weight, and the content of the ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer (B), x % by weight, and the content of the ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer (C), y % by weight, satisfy the formula: 0.07&#x2264;x/(x+y)&#x2264;0.41.

Polypropylene-based resin composition and molded article made thereof

Provided are a polypropylene resin composition which does not produce very much mold staining at the time of molding, which is excellent in antistatic property, weather resistance and molding processability, which has good balance between high rigidity and high impact resistance, and which can give a molded article excellent in flow mark appearance and weld appearance when being processed into a molded article, and a molded article produced therefrom. The polypropylene resin composition of the present invention contains 98 to 50 parts by weight of a specified polypropylene resin (A), 1 to 25 parts by weight of a specified ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer rubber (B), 1 to 25 parts by weight of an inorganic filler (C), 0.02 to 1 part by weight of a hindered amine light stabilizer (D) which satisfies specified requirements (a), (b) and (c), and 0.05 to 1 part by weight of a nonionic antistatic agent (E), provided that the combined amount of the polypropylene resin (A), the ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer rubber (B) and the inorganic filler (C) is 100 parts by weight.

Polypropylene resin composition and molded article made thereof

The polypropylene resin composition is disclosed which includes 50-94% by weight of a polypropylene resin having a specific structure, 1-25% by weight of an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer rubber composed of an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin (C) copolymer rubber having a density of 0.85-0.91 g/cmand an MFR of 0.9-20 g/10 min and/or an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin (C) copolymer rubber having a density of 0.85-0.91 g/cmand MFR of not less than 0.01 but less than 0.9 g/10 min, and 5-25% by weight of an inorganic filler.

Disclosed is a method for producing a modified propylene polymer, the method comprising heating a mixture of 100 parts by weight of a propylene polymer (A) defined below and from 0.1 to 50 parts by weight of an ethylenically unsaturated bond-containing monomer (B) in the presence of from 0.01 to 20 parts by weight of an organic peroxide (C); propylene polymer (A) being a propylene polymer composed of from 0.5 to 90% by weight of a propylene polymer component (A1) having an intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;], as measured in tetralin at 135&#xb0; C., of from 5 dl/g to 15 dl/g and from 10 to 99.5% by weight of a propylene polymer component (A2) having an intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;], as measured in tetralin at 135&#xb0; C., of not less than 0.1 dl/g but less than 5 dl/g.

Method for producing a modified propylene polymer

Disclosed is a polypropylene resin composition including from 50 to 94% by weight of polypropylene resin, from 1 to 25% by weight of ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer rubber including ethylene units and units of C&#x3b1;-olefin, the copolymer having a density of 0.850-0.870 g/cmand an MFR of 0.05-1 g/10 min, and from 5 to 25% by weight of inorganic filler, wherein the polypropylene resin is a propylene-ethylene block copolymer satisfying given requirements or a polymer mixture of the propylene-ethylene block copolymer and a propylene homopolymer. Molded articles made from the composition have good balance between rigidity and impact resistance and have good appearance.

Disclosed is a polypropylene resin composition including from 50 to 93% by weight of polypropylene resin including propylene-ethylene block copolymer satisfying given requirements, from 1 to 25% by weight of ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer rubber made up of ethylene units and units of C&#x3b1;-olefin having a density of 0.850 to 0.870 g/cmand an MFR of 0.05 to 1 g/10 min, from 1 to 25% by weight of another type of ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer rubber made up of ethylene units and units of C&#x3b1;-olefin having a density of 0.850 to 0.870 g/cm2 and an MFR of 2 to 20 g/10 min, and from 5 to 25% by weight of inorganic filler. Disclosed is a propylene-based polymer including from 51 to 75% by weight of a propylene-ethylene random copolymer component (A) having an intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;], measured in tetralin at 135&#xb0; C., of 5 dl/g or more and an ethylene content of not less than 8% by weight but less than 20% by weight, and from 25 to 49% by weight of a propylene-based polymer component (B) obtained by polymerizing monomers mainly including propylene, the component having an intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;], measured in tetralin at 135&#xb0; C., of 1.2 dl/g or less, wherein said amounts of the components (A) and (B) are each based on the combined weight of these components.

Propylene-based polymer, polypropylene resin composition, and injection molded article

A polypropylene resin composition comprises (A) (a-1) a specific crystalline propylene/ethylene block copolymer or (a-3) a polymer mixture comprising the (a-1) and (a-2) a specific crystalline propylene-homopolymer in specific ratio, in an amount of 5 to 56% by weight, (B) a hydroxyl group-containing polypropylene having an intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;] of 0.8 to 2.0 dl/g and a melting point of 150 to 168&#xb0; C., in an amount of 10 to 45% by weight, (C) a copolymer rubber of ethylene and an &#x3b1;-olefin having a melt flow rate (ASTM D-1238, 230&#xb0; C., load of 2160 g) of 0.5 to 15 g/10 min, in an amount of 18 to 25% by weight, (D) a hydrogenation product of a block copolymer containing a polymer block of a monovinyl-substituted aromatic hydrocarbon compound and a polymer block of a conjugated diene compound, in an amount of 1 to 10% by weight, and (E) an inorganic filler in an amount of 15 to 25% by weight, the total amount of said components (A), (B), (C), (D) and (E) being 100% by weight, hydroxyl group-containing monomer units derived from the hydroxyl group-containing polypropylene (B) being contained in amounts of 1.3 to 4.0% by weight in 100% by weight of the polypropylene resin composition. The polypropylene resin composition exhibits excellent coating adhesion properties and has excellent processability and mechanical strength with a good balance.

Polypropylene resin compositions

Disclosed is a propylene-ethylene block copolymer which is superior in stiffness, hardness and moldability and also in balance between toughness and low-temperature impact resistance. The copolymer contains from 60 to 85% by weight of a crystalline polypropylene portion and from 15 to 40% by weight of a specific propylene-ethylene random copolymer portion, wherein the propylene-ethylene block copolymer has a melt flow rate (MFR) of from 5 to 120 g/10 min.

Polypropylene-based resin composition, process for producing the same and injection molded article

A thermoplastic composition which is obtained by melt-kneading (1) 55 to 75 wt. % crystalline polypropylene resin together with (2) 10 to 30 wt. % elastomer comprising either a rubber containing a vinyl aromatic compound or a mixture thereof with an ethylene/&agr;-olefin random copolymer rubber and (3) 15 to 25 wt. % talc having an average particle diameter of 3 &mgr;m or smaller. The composition satisfies specific requirements with respect to: the long period obtained by X-ray small-angle scattering attributable to the vinyl aromatic-containing rubber in a blend obtained by melt-kneading the ingredients (1) and (2); the shape and diameter of the elastomer particles present near the polypropylene/elastomer interface in the blend; and the difference between the glass transition point of the ingredient (1) and that of the composition attributable to the crystalline polypropylene homopolymer parts. The composition has a satisfactory balance between impact resistance and rigidity and has excellent injection moldability.
