The present invention provide a transmission system comprising a transmission apparatus for transmitting audio data of multi channels and auxiliary data required for playback of the audio data, and a receiving apparatus for receiving the audio data and the auxiliary data which are transmitted by the transmission apparatus. A multiplexer of the transmission apparatus creates block data that is composed of 8 frames, and first 1 byte of each frame is allocated to a header having Sync, OE and the like, the second byte is allocated to the auxiliary data including AUX data and copyright protect information, and remaining bytes are used to transmit the audio data. An encryptor carries out an encryption process for the second and later bytes of each frame, and a communication means outputs encrypted data. A communication means of the receiving apparatus receives the encrypted data from the transmission apparatus, a decoder decodes the encrypted data, and a demultiplexer demultiplexes the audio data and the auxiliary data. Therefore, this transmission system transmits multi-channel audio data of the DVD-Audio or the like efficiently on a transmission line using fixed length frames according to the MOST method, and takes measures for copyright protection of audio data.

Transmission system

Provided are a Blu-ray Disc (BD) playback system, a BD playback device, a display device, and a computer program which can report the status to the user during playback of BD content and can automatically provide an optimal user interface (UI). A BD playback device () is provided with an interactive content decision unit () for analyzing control data received from a disc reader () and determining whether a disc contains interactive content, and, if there is content, whether the interactive content should be played back. In addition, a display and operating device () is provided with an HMI control unit () for determining the status of the BD playback device () from the input from a communication unit () and displaying the appropriate HMI. The HMI control unit () controls the report to the user that interactive content exists when it has been determined that interactive content exists.

A video/sound signal switching and distributing device makes connections to a plurality of video/sound signal receiving devices to be connected at startup of a system and performs authentication between itself and the plurality of video/sound signal receiving devices, thereby acquiring key selection information about a video/sound signal transmitting device and holding the key selection information. Even when another video/sound signal receiving device is connected to the video/sound signal transmitting device while one video/sound signal is already in the middle of displaying a view of the video/sound signal, the video/sound signal transmitting device and the video/sound signal switching and distributing device can again establish a connection without redoing mutual authentication. Hence, disconnection and re-connection of the video/sound signal can be performed without interruption of the video/sound signal being displayed for viewing purpose.

An analog radio receiver can change a noise suppression parameter appropriate for a sound to be reproduced. The analog radio receiver includes a sound category determining unit for determining a category of a sound to be reproduced from an input signal, and a selecting unit for selecting, on the basis of the category determined by the sound category determining unit, a noise suppression parameter such as passband of the IF filter, blend value of the stereo blend unit, high-cut value of the high-cut unit, response rate of the soft mute unit, and the like, wherein the IF filter, the stereo blend unit, the high-cut unit, the soft mute unit suppress noises of the input signal on the basis of the noise suppression parameter selected by the selecting unit.

Analog radio receiver

A transmission system includes a transmission apparatus and a receiving apparatus for repeatedly transmitting and receiving a frame with plural time slots at a constant frequency, in which digital audio data of plural channels and auxiliary data required to playback the digital audio data are transmitted using previously allocated time slots. A multiplexer is provided for multiplexing, assuming an area made up of previously allocated time slots that are included in respective frames amounting to a number of a multiple of n as block data when the predetermined encryption unit is n bytes. The digital audio data and the auxiliary data are allocated as the block data wherein the auxiliary data is allocated to the time slots that are located at the same positions of respective plural frames within the block data, and the digital audio data is allocated in the time slots that are located at the same position in the respective frames amounting to the number of a multiple of n in the block data. An encryptor encrypts at least the digital audio data from the multiplexed block data in the predetermined encryption unit and a communication unit transmits the data encrypted in the encryptor, wherein the receiving apparatus decodes the encrypted data transmitted from the transmission apparatus.

Transmission system with apparatus for transmitting and receiving audio data auxiliary data

Stream data and a command output from a drive device are individually packetized in a first packet processing unit. The stream data packet and the command packet are further multiplexed, and the multiplexed data is transmitted to a transmission path using a synchronous channel. When the command output from a decoding unit is packetized in a second packet processing unit, it is packetized by multiplexing flow control information output from the decoding unit, and is transmitted to the first packet processing unit using a synchronous channel of the transmission path. Based on this flow control information, reading/writing by the drive device is controlled.

A data player for reading contents encrypted by a decoding key from a digital medium, and playing the encrypted contents by using the decoding key which is stored in a key storage unit, comprises: a key obtaining unit for performing mutual authentication with the key storage unit to obtain the decoding key stored in the key storage unit; a key holding unit for holding the decoding key; a playback state obtaining unit for monitoring the playback state of the digital medium; and a contents decoding unit for decoding the encrypted contents by using the decoding key. The decoding key is obtained by the key obtaining unit and stored in the key holding unit, and the encrypted contents read from the digital medium is decoded with the decoding key by the contents decoding unit to play the contents. The decoding key stored in the key holding unit is discarded according to the playback state of the digital medium which is obtained by the playback state obtaining unit.

In a display system, a projector is mounted inside a vehicle, and emits a light beam, which is generated based on an image signal, toward an opening formed at a portion near a rear end of the vehicle. An exterior screen is extendable toward the opening and is made of a material having low stiffness. While being extended toward the opening, the exterior screen displays an image by allowing the light beam emitted by the projector to pass therethrough. A screen housing unit is mounted on or near one of a rear hatch and a back door of the vehicle for accommodating the exterior screen.

Display system

A transmitter is capable of compressing an incoming image with a relatively small delay time and transmit the compressed image data to a receiver. Image data contains at least i pixel values of pixels arranged in line along a single direction, each pixel value being expressed in n bits. A transmitter for compressing such image data and transmitting the image data to a receiver via a transmission path includes a blocking section, a data compression section, and a data sending section. The blocking section takes every p pixel values among the i pixel values in the image data to form a data block, and sequentially outputs a plurality of the data blocks each including the p pixel values. The data compression section reduces an amount of data from each data block outputted from the blocking section and thereby outputs a compressed block. The data sending section sends the compressed block outputted from the data compression section onto the transmission path.

A control device determines whether an image generated by merging several concurrently picked-up images has consistent image quality on a display device. If determined No, image quality parameters set in each image pickup device are so controlled as to make the image quality of the merged image consistent. Therefore, the merged image can assuredly have consistent image quality. Further, a signal processing device detects, based on positions of nodes and attributes of cameras, a connection indicating which node is connected to which camera and with what attribute. The signal processing device in advance stores every detectable connection and a plurality of image processing programs corresponding to each connection, and selects and carries out one of the image processing programs corresponding to the detected connection.

There is provided a transmission system which realizes more flexible resource allocation. A resource management means upon receipt of a resource allocation request including a minimum bandwidth and a maximum bandwidth, reduces allocated resources stored in an allocated-resource request table to the corresponding minimum bandwidths. As such, the request is accepted with higher probability. When releasing an allocated resource, the resource management means increases the allocated-resources of the allocated-resource requests to bandwidths within a range of the corresponding maximum bandwidths. Accordingly, the resources are utilized more effectively. When releasing the resource, the resource management means notifies, by broadcast, all the communication apparatuses that free resources are increased. Thus, for the communication apparatus whose request has been rejected, the resource is allocatable.
