An exemplary clutch mechanism includes a casing, first and second hubs rotatably mounted to the casing, an electrically-actuated drive assembly mounted within the casing, and a clutching lug movably mounted within the casing. The lug has an engaged position in which the lug couples the hubs for joint rotation and a disengaged position in which the hubs are rotationally decoupled. The drive assembly is operable to drive the lug between the engaged and disengaged positions to couple and decouple the hubs. The clutch mechanism is modular and self-contained within the casing such that the mechanism can be installed to each of a plurality of different lockset products without opening the casing.

Modular clutching mechanism

A cleaning apparatus for a vacuum pedestal and method of cleaning a pedestal used in semiconductor device fabrication are described. The apparatus has a baseplate, a collar attached to the baseplate, a cap disposed on the collar, and a shaft that extends from the collar through the cap, collar and baseplate. A manual rotatable handle is attached to a shaft portion that extends from the cap. Motion of the handle in a downward direction is impeded by the cap. A disk is attached to a lower portion of the shaft and is separated from a bottom of the baseplate due to weighted rings, which are attached to the disk and surround the lower portion of the shaft such that a vertical float is present between the shaft and the cap. At least one abrasive pad is attached to the disk to remove build-up on the underlying pedestal surface.

Pedestal polishing apparatus

In one form, a multipoint locking assembly included a first latch device, a second latch device, and a mortise assembly coupled to the first and second latch devices. The mortise assembly may comprise a first transmission coupled to the first latch device via a first flexible member, a second transmission coupled to the second latch device via a second flexible member, and an actuation assembly operable to actuate the first and second transmissions. At least one of the transmissions comprises a slack removal device operable to remove slack in the flexible member to which it is coupled, thereby ensuring proper transmission of pulling forces between the transmission and the latch device.
