Esterquats find major applications as fabric softeners. After Tallow fatty acids and Palm oil fatty acids, fatty acids from sustainable sources like Rice bran fatty acids (RBFA) are desired. RBFA is formed as a by-product during refining of Rice bran oil and hence it is contained in the non edible portion of the oil. The production of high quality esterquats from this by-product is challenging, but the invention describes a process to produce high quality esterquats having low odour and a low acid value. This enhances easy formulation of various products and better customer acceptance. Liquid esterquats produced from RBFA enable e.g. cold processing for fabric softener formulations.

For example, a wellbore operation may include introducing the treatment fluid into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation and contacting a metal surface with a treatment fluid.

Methods of inhibiting corrosion of metal surfaces by aqueous acids are described. The methods include combining an effective amount of a corrosion inhibitor composition with an aqueous acid solution to form an inhibited acid solution and contacting a metal surface with the inhibited acid solution. The corrosion inhibitor composition includes an aromatic ketone or a salt thereof.

Plant extracted oil based polyepoxy resin composition for improved performance of natural sand placed in fracture

A fluid including: (i) a continuous aqueous phase, wherein the continuous aqueous phase has total dissolved solids in a concentration of at least 30,000 mg/l; (ii) an alkyl amido quaternary amine; (iii) a polymer, wherein the polymer is water-soluble or water-hydratable; and (iv) a crosslinker for the polymer. The continuous aqueous phase of the fluid can include a water source selected from the group consisting of flowback water, produced water, and any combination thereof. Methods include: (A) forming a fluid according to any of the various embodiments of the disclosure, and (B) introducing the fluid into a well. For example, the fluid can be used as a fracturing fluid for fracturing a treatment zone of a well.

High-salt gelling compositions and methods for well treatment

Crosslinking resin for sand consolidation operations

COscavenging additives having one or more cyanamide functionalities for the reduction of corrosion in subterranean formations are disclosed. The additives are also suitable for the simultaneous scavenging of COand HS. The additives can be introduced by way of a treatment fluid for the subterranean formation to interact with and reduce the concentration of COand/or HS in the formation.

Cyanamide-based carbon dioxide and/or hydrogen sulfide scavengers and methods of use in subterranean operations
