A work station for monitoring and control of an industrial process includes a human machine interface unit for presenting the industrial process in process graphics for an operator. The interface unit is communicatively and operatively connectable to an industrial process, and the work station is provided with a shortcut navigator for coupling a key of a physical keyboard to a process graphic or entity of a process graphic. The shortcut navigator includes a presenter, which is adapted to present a virtual keyboard in the process graphic, and an assigner, which is adapted to assign a shortcut to the currently presented process graphic or entity of the process graphic. The shortcut couples a specific key of the physical keyboard to the presented process graphic, or to the process graphic of the entity, respectively. A method, system, and computer program for monitoring and controlling an industrial process is also provided.

System, method, work station and computer program product for controlling an industrial process

A method for notifying at least a first condition in an industrial system by way of a monitoring system in order to draw the attention of an operator monitoring the industrial system to the at least one condition. The method includes displaying the first condition in a first portion of a display screen of the monitoring system, determining by eye tracking an area where a user focuses on the display screen, the area where the user focuses differing from the first portion, and alerting the user of the first condition in order to allow the user to be notified of the first condition in the industrial system. A monitoring system is also presented herein.

Method and system for monitoring an industrial system involving an eye tracking system

A method and device for generating a set of graphical objects to be displayed by using OPC UA (Unified Architecture) specification. The method includes indicating, by using OPC UA nodes, graphical objects to be displayed, the graphical objects representing physical components of a monitored process. Further, the method includes indicating, by using OPC UA references, how an indicated graphical object should be interconnected to another indicated graphical object when displayed. Next, the respective OPC UA node is associated with a corresponding predetermined graphical object, the set of graphical objects is generated from the associations and the individual graphical objects of the set is interconnected in accordance with the indicated interconnections. Finally, the generated set of graphical objects is displayed.

Using OPC UA to automatically generate process graphics

A method and device of controlling an industrial process. The method includes the steps of monitoring a plurality of values of at least one physical property of the industrial process to be controlled and determining whether the respective value of the at least one physical parameter deviates from a nominal value. Further, the method includes the step of displaying on a display screen, in chronological order, current state of the at least one physical property over time, which current state reflects the deviation of the respective value from the nominal value. Finally, the method includes the steps of providing on the display screen, when a user selects one of the current states, detailed information pertaining to the selected state and controlling the industrial process on the basis of the detailed information.

Alarm visualization

A method for displaying visual representation of at least one user interface, UI, of a process control system, the at least one UI being displayed on an electronic visual display unit connectable to the process control system and being adapted to visually indicate relationship between a plurality of components included in at least a part of a process controlled by the process control system, is disclosed. Data associated with different components in the process controlled by the process control system indicative of the operational status of the respective component is used to visualize the operational status of the components in each UI on the electronic visual display unit.

Automatic generation of visual representation of user interface of process control system

A method of controlling an industrial system by a control system including a user interface having a main display arranged to provide a status view of at least a portion of the industrial system and a secondary display enabling user interaction with the industrial system and the main display. The method includes: receiving an alert concerning a status change in a part of the industrial system; displaying, on the secondary display, an alert object associated with the part of the industrial system generating the alert; detecting a selection of the alert object based on gesture-based user input; displaying the alert object on the main display; receiving an adjustment command of a parameter via gesture-based user input, the parameter being associated with the part of the industrial system generating the alert; adjusting the parameter based on the adjustment command; and controlling the part generating the alert based on the adjusted parameter.

Method and system for controlling an industrial system

A method for providing a navigation tool of a user interface for an industrial control system. The control system is arranged with a plurality of process graphics including one or more software objects. The software objects are arranged in hierarchical groups each representing a process, part-process or an equipment, in which materials are moved and/or processed in a predetermined order. The navigation tool includes a graphic image or map showing the plurality of process graphics symbolically arranged as a plurality of nodes. Each node is spatially arranged at a given distance from the centre of the map according to a hierarchical relationship between the process graphics, and the map is displayed superimposed on top of the process graphic currently displayed on the workstation. A computer program and a workstation are also described. The node representing the currently open process graphic is shown by a visual indicator.

Method for providing a navigation tool of a user interface for an industrial control system

A method for monitoring an industrial process with a graphical user interface of an operator panel. The graphical user interface is adapted to change between a default mode in which it presents a plurality of objects related to the industrial process, and a user-adapted mode in which a subset of the plurality of objects is presented. The subset of objects is selected based on a parameter value which is associated with each object of the plurality of objects. The graphical user interface enters the user-adapted mode by the method determining whether a time of inactivity of the operator panel exceeds a threshold value, and, provided that the threshold value has been exceeded, removing those objects of the plurality of objects on the graphical user interface which are not included in the subset of objects.

Method and system for monitoring an industrial process

A method in a UI of a process control system is disclosed. The UI is configured to be displayed on an electronic visual display unit connectable to the process control system. The UI is adapted to visually indicate a plurality of components included in at least a part of a process controlled by the process control system. At least one sub-UI, such as a faceplate, is generated, each sub-UI corresponding to a respective component of the plurality of components. The at least one sub-UI is displayed on the display unit. Each of the at least one sub-UI is adapted such that a number of operation information and/or control elements visually indicated in each sub-UI when the at least one sub-UI is displayed on the display unit depends on the number of sub-UIs that are displayed on the display unit at the same time. Method and system for controlling an industrial process

A user interface (UI) for a process control system is disclosed. The UI is configured to be displayed on an electronic visual display unit connectable to the process control system. The UI includes a plurality of sub-UIs, each sub-UI being adapted to visually indicate at least a part of a process controlled by the process control system. A selection sub-UI is provided that can be selectively activated and deactivated by the user or operator, which selection sub-UI enables the user to at least temporarily select one or more of a plurality of visual representations corresponding to corresponding ones of the plurality of sub-UIs. When the selection sub-UI is deactivated, sub-UI corresponding to the selected one or more of the plurality of visual representations is displayed on the display unit.
