A system described herein may output, during a particular time window (e.g., in a simulation environment), a series of wireless transmissions to one or more User Equipment ('UEs') of a particular type. The series of wireless transmissions may include first set of transmissions associated with a first set of parameters and a second set of transmissions associated with a second set of parameters. The system may receive channel quality measurements from the one or more UEs, and may identify a measure of variance between the channel quality measurements from the one or more UEs. The system may generate a reliability score associated with the particular type of UE based on the identified measure of variance, and may output, to a wireless network, the reliability score associated with the particular type of UE. The wireless network may communicate with UEs of the particular type based on the reliability score.

Systems and methods for determining reliability of channel quality measurements provided by user equipment

A network device may determine that a user equipment is entering a first frequency band coverage area provided by the network device and may determine that the user equipment is a power sensitive device or a narrow band device. In some implementations, a radio access network (RAN) may obtain data rate information from a server device. The server device may be associated with an application and the data rate information may be associated with the application. The RAN may determine, based on the data rate information, one or more data rate parameters associated with the application. The one or more data rate parameters may include at least one of one or more radio frequency parameters, one or more network loading parameters, one or more mobility parameters, or an available data rate parameter. The RAN may transmit, to the server device, the one or more data rate parameters.

A base station may include a processor configured to configure a default time period for periodic service requests for discontinuous reception (DRX) for user equipment (UE) devices serviced by the base station. The processor may be further configured to obtain a signal quality value for a UE device serviced by the base station; determine that the obtained signal quality value is less than a low signal quality threshold; and configure a longer time period for the periodic service requests for DRX for the UE device, in response to determining that the obtained signal quality value is less than the low signal quality threshold.

Using, for example, a timing advance procedure, the base station can determine when the UE requires an expanded cell range (e.g., if the UE is at the cell range edge). In response, the base station adjusts a configuration of a special slot for the UE. The adjustment to the special slot can comprise an addition of a gap symbol, a prioritizing of uplink transmissions over downlink transmissions, or a reserving of one or more downlink symbols during scheduling.
