Techniques for auditing purchases are provided. An item for purchase is scanned to determine a first identity of the item. The scanned item is added to a transaction. A first image of the scanned item is captured using a first camera. A second identity of the scanned item from the first image is determined using a trained machine learning (ML) model. Responsive to determining the first and second identities of the item do not match, an audit of the transaction is performed.

Auditing purchasing system

A method, computer program product, and system are described. The method comprises receiving payment information, receiving a communication from an electronic device of a user, wherein the communication comprises a token that corresponds to the combination of the user and the electronic device. The method further comprises transmitting, to a payment processor of a payment network, the token and an identifier of the electronic device that is derived from the communication. The method further comprises receiving, from the payment network, a payment authorization that indicates that the token and the identifier of the electronic device were previously registered with an issuer corresponding to the payment information.

Authorizing payments using pre-registered customer tokens

Embodiments herein describe connecting a customer in a retail store with an expert. In one example, this connection is made using a shelf IO device. Using a product ID provided by the shelf IO device, a computing system can identify an expert and determine whether they are available to help the customer. For example, the system may identify an expert that is currently in the same store as the customer, or the expert may be available to conduct a phone conversation or teleconference using the customer's mobile phone.

The method includes scanning a first item using a first barcode scanner and a second barcode scanner and determining, based on signals from the first barcode scanner and the second barcode scanner, a first two-dimensional light grid indicating where the first item broke beams of the first barcode scanner and the second barcode scanner. The method also includes predicting, using a machine learning model and based on the first two-dimensional light grid, a first category for the first item, receiving, from a camera, an image of the first item, and comparing the image of the first item to a first set of images assigned to the first category to determine an identity of the first item.

Embodiments herein describe a reverse auction application which can collect and display bids for a product or service to a user. The reverse auction application can also gather information about the user such as user preferences, brand loyalty, user characteristics, and the like. This information is provided to suppliers when requesting bids. The suppliers can use this information to then generate customized bids for the user. That is, unlike typical reverse auctions where bidders only compete over price, the bidders can use the user information provided by the reverse auction application to add incentives, offer combination orders, or offer additional services in their bids, as well as determine an optimum price.

Providing mined user information to suppliers for generating customized bids

A computer is configured to obtain a digital image (e.g., a video) of a customer in a retail store setting, and analyze the digital image to determine whether the customer was assisted with a particular sales transaction by one or more sales associates. Such linking provides a basis for training tools, as well as for the accurate apportionment of a sales commission.
